Do you prefer to buy your comics and animation physically or digitally?Amazon has removed some digital films from my library, but I dont think Ive ever lost a book or comic that way.
The only digital media I pay for is video games, and only specific ones made by devs I like on a personal level and thus want to see continue making games. For everything else, if you're not offering a physical version, you're not getting my money.
>>154503801Maybe I can imagine eating a GOOD virtual pizza.
>>154503801Virtual cause it's cheaper because physical means waiting a month for the product and paying for import tax as well
>>154503801I get digital comics for stuff I want to read and if I really like it I’ll get a fancy version to put on my shelf. I moved around a whole bunch and had to lug around a twenty year collection every time I did. I eventually had to sell that collection for food while I was in college. When I went to get back into comics I realized 95% of the comics I got I read once and then sealed away forever and they just took up space in my house. I still get a couple physical floppies just ‘cause I want a complete collection of the series but 90% of what I get is digital, read once, then never touched again.
>>154503801God I hate these performative faggot companies
I tend to pirate these days. But when I do purchase, I usually go digital unless it's something I already love, then I'll splurge on physical.
>>154503801>Amazon has removed some digital films from my library, but I dont think Ive ever lost a book or comic that wayI bought a bunch of Image and indie stuff when they came out that are no longer available but are still in my digital library. Been doing digital since about 2011 and haven’t had anything removed from my library
>>154503901Same. Nowadays there just isn’t any difference between getting a game digitally or getting a physical copy and there’s no real reason beyond “I’m fighting for a cause!” faggotry to continue to get modern physical games.
>>154503801Sir this is the piracy board
>>154503801I buy cartoons physically, but only boutique brands like Thunderbean or Deaf Crocodile. Their materials are niche and it's always an improvement.
>>154503940One boot pizza for you.
>>154503901>>154503940Try to remember the last time you genuinely smiled, there must have still been positivity in your lives for you back then. Rediscover that.
I buy trade paperbacks for stuff I know I’m gonna like. If I’m iffy or just exploring, I read stuff digitally and if I like it enough, I buy it physically to own on my shelf. I’ve been reading The Immortal Iron Fist 2006 and it’s fucking badass so I’m planning on getting the omnibus.
>>154504362A disc or paper is going to make me happy?
>>154503801Physically but in trades
>>154503801some one's just gotta bite the fuckin' bullet, go into MASSIVE amounts of debt, buy a comic printer/industrial dic burner/vhs recorder, and start releasing media in physicality, at whatever the costs needs to be to get to the next month.
>>154504914You’re someone, anon
>>154503801>buy
>>154504914Are you refering to companies or individuals? What?
>>154504914Has any other generation been so held back by nostalgia that they actively fight against updated technology? Like when electric fans or AC was invented was there a whole group of people like “no! Manually moving a fan makes the cool air feel like an accomplishment!”
>>154505832The difference is that the manufacturer of the AC can't decide to just march into my house and rip it out of the wall simply because they don't want me to have cold air anymore.
>>154503801I stopped watching cable tv after 2020 because all the cartoons I wanted to watch came out on streaming earlier than tv. I would still watch cable if there was anything worth watching on there. same for video games, I have no reason to get a console or discs anymore if I can just play on my pc. THEY eliminated PC discs as PC's no longer come with disc or cd things anymore, again if there was the option for like, phsyical PC games, I would buy them, but that isn't an option...
If buying isn't owning, piracy isn't theft.
>>154503801>animation physically or digitally?Buy it, dump all of it to my hard drive and then backup my hard drive, then resell for a bit of profit. Physical is shit, but in many cases finding dvd rips online can be a bit hard. I just gotta do it myself.
>>154503801As usual people are focusing on the dumbest aspects of thisthere's no need or desire for physical media. the problem is that the companies try to block your full access to the DIGITAL copy. You can't easily back it up, copy it, mod it. Remove that, and the need for a physical copy disappears. see: Steam games.I still read the occasional paper comic just because they kind of appear, often as gifts. it's still a pretty cheap format to put out, unlike a disk. But most of the comics I read are digital, because I'm not paying for that shit until I can confirm it's not woke. and if it's not, awesome. I'll send some money their way if the comic's good. or in the case of Gargoyles, I bought the new toys. I kinda regret that, but..
>>154506211who would pay you for that>>154505832It's more that their discussions are (ironically enough) being written for them. Nobody thinks or speaks their own mind anymore.
>>154503801Digitally downloaded from nyaaIf I'm going to buy them, I want them to be in a DRM-free digital format so I actually own that shit.
