Previously on X-Men, there's a sequence in the intro where Cyclops goes to shoot Apocalypse, but he grabs Angel instead and uses him to block the blast. Only Cyclops (who can obviously see this) just keeps blasting into his friend for like 2-3 seconds.

I'm rewatching X-Men TAS in preparation for watching X-Men '97 and I've gotten to the Time Fugitives two-parter. It's a bit odd, I can't quite make sense of what they were trying to do.In the scene when Bishop returns to the future in season 1, he declares that nothing has changed and we see no visible change aside from maybe Wolverine dying a bit earlier, though we don't know for how long he was gone. Then in season 2 we get an almost identical scene with Bishop and Forge having nearly identical lines and Wolverine's skeleton still being a tube, but for some reason Bishop returns to a world that has indeed changed and declaring his success while Forge claims nothing has changed.I know the X-Men put an end to the Sentinels in between these episodes and maybe that's why Bishop returns to a different future at first and then we get another one in season 2... But Bishop's actions in the past is what lead to the X-Men stopping the Sentinels with no apparent other, so shouldn't Bishop always have returned to the new future? And which timeline did Cable originate in, the Kelly dies timeline or the Kelly lives timeline? The only way I can make sense of this is if we saw two different versions of Bishop that doesn't explain Cable in season 1, since his timeline seems to have always been the result of alteration.

>>154514404>Wheres Kitty?>she went.. outside>OH NO KITTY NO
>>154518627I think we're gonna be explained or hinted all of that now. Like how Cable randomly shows up in Genosha in the episode when Gambit, Jubs, and Storm got captured there can be attributed to him looking for the right timeline to try to save Genosha which hadn't yet happened.
I was hoping that now Defago is gone, Magneto could suffer some consequences for likely killing millions of people, but new writers are likely commies who also think he's right and all humans should die.

>>154527959*Marvel ANIMATED Villian, I mean
>>154527959Out of all the 90s era marvel cartoons ive seen TAS kingpin was the best. I liked modok alot in the iron man cartoon but kingpin was overall better
>>154527959He had that perfect blend of pose and menace like Kingpin could tell you about the history of some museum piece in immaculate detail and yet also kill a guy at the same time. Most modern Kingpins lean hard into the gritty crime boss, but the 1990s show had him skew closer to a Bond villain. Roscoe Lee Brown is the definitive Kingpin for me.
>>154527981>>154527968I think 90s Doom and maybe EMH Zemo are a close second.

>>154528391wait who is the fourth one?
>>154528401Anya, Wanda, Pietro, and Lorna.Alpha was also technically his son but he bailed immediately.
>>154518627I wouldn't think too hard since the TAS has a bunch of continuity errors mostly due to trying to follow the comics, but don't follow through due to the story changing, or they can't figure out how to add a plot from the comics in the cartoon. A good example of a plot hole is the X-Men learning about the rumored cure for mutants, which happens to have Cable in it. They meet up with Angel for the first time afterwards, and that would've been fine, but later on we see old pictures and flashbacks of the original X-Men that have Iceman and Angel, which doesn't make sense since Cyclops talked to him as if he doesn't know him during the mutant cure episode, which ended up being an Apocalypse plot.>>154520646> Like how Cable randomly shows up in Genosha in the episode when Gambit, Jubs, and Storm got captured On that topic, wasn't the reason Cable not being from the future and was some renegade mutant solder was because the Comics at the time didn't introduce him as Cyclops and Madylons son from the future?
>>154528430Holy fuck that oven dodger mutie has been busy!

>>154528430Are Wanda and Pietro his again? I've lost track on the current status.
>>154528430>Alpha was also technically his son but he bailed immediatelyAnd good he did, by far the best of Magnetos children, clearly the one whit the healthier love life.
>>154528546They have no blood relation, but Magneto insists he's still their father.
>>154514404Whatever happen to Jobbernaut?
>>154528546With exception to the comics, every other non-comic incarnation of Pietro and Wanda are Magneto's children.
>>154527953Always forgetting the little detail that his mutant liberation includes human genocide.
>>154528488I honestly don't remember. He just showed up and the current show used that probably and works.Where is that screencap from? I honestly don't remember. Also, Warren being part of the OG xmen was retconed in '97.
>>154527953I thought the helmet protects him like Juggernaut's?
I thought the whole "DeMayo hates Wolverine" thing was a knee-jerk response to Wolverine being a mere part of an ensemble but it is a little weird how uninterested the show is in the character.I'll admit I'm unfamiliar with the source material other than it leading to the infamous Noseless Wolverine plot, but one would think nearly dying and getting his adamantium ripped out would warrant more of a reaction even if they don't adapt that part.
>>154529441The screencap is from the episode where the Shadow King came back and succeeded in possessing Charles, so Jean had to probe his mind to make him remember the time he first met the Shadow King and Storm and decided to form the X-Men to help break his hold on Charles' mind. And here's the follow-up with Warren, just casually part of the team, so you can argue that they wanted him to be part of the X-Men, to the point Bishop's sister said he was decent to join up with them despite not making it official in the show.
>>154528488>They meet up with Angel for the first time afterwards, and that would've been fine, but later on we see old pictures and flashbacks of the original X-Men that have Iceman and Angel, which doesn't make sense since Cyclops talked to him as if he doesn't know him during the mutant cure episode, which ended up being an Apocalypse plot.Isn't that the sort of thing they should have hashed out in the production bible? You know, writing in what exactly happened before the show, like who the original X-Men members were and why they left?
>>154529818The idea that Magneto's helmet blocked telepaths was created by David Hayter when he wrote the first FoX-Men film.
>>154529979Episode five is Weapon X. We remember Wolverine being more featured in TAS because they had more episodes. Apart from TAS Weapon X episode, he later had another episode when he goes back to Canada, I think. The Nightcrawler episode is also quite remembered for Wolverine becoming Christian.TAS had a more diverse and balanced plots, while 97 seems to focus in one single plot for the entire season. He wasn't more featured, but he had more memorable lines.
>>154530085Thanks, anon. I didn't remember this because I now remember I didn't watch these episodes due to school shenanigans. Such was life back in the 90s.
>>154530642I don't know about thr BTS woes, but I think they just used the X-men who happened to be more popular at the time. I remember they considered Kitty and Colossus as THE couple, but got replaced with Rogue and Gambit because Gambit was more popular. I guess they just wanted to use Warren for their Apocalypse saga, and the character works better as a stranger to the team who later becomes an ally. Then they retconed again for whatever their reasons.
>>154530642They clearly didn't with Warren since, after he was freed from being Archangel, he went on a quest for vengeance against Apocalypse. Maybe they did plan to have an episode explaining why he left the X-Men, like with Bobby, but it never happened for whatever reason.>>154531313Yeah, it was like in a later season, so I don't blame you if you don't remember it too well; we also see original X-Men footage during the Ice Man episode back when Polas was also part of the team.
>>154518742Has Kitty ever had a good hair style? That and her casual racism seem to always follow the character.
>>154524549Or you could save the really heinous actions for villains that can’t die or at least are really hard to kill permanently.

>>154531551Sure anon, keep telling yourself that.
>>154531497>original X-Men footage during the Ice Man episode back when Polas was also part of the team. That I remember, but neither Angel or Polaris were shown. It's not a retcon that she was part of the group, but I don't think she was an original member, just as her comic counterpart.
>>154527765Has the ability to make people relive their daddy issues.
>>154531287That's fair but mostly just a tangent to my point.
>>154531686Angel wasn't shown but Polaris was and her being hurt doing a mission was the breaking point of Bobby having a falling out with Xavier. After she notice Ice Man wasting his abilities trying to be normal, she left him to join X-factor.
