I am a beginner artist and just would like some guidance. I tried loomis for a while but just could not intuitively get it to work for me. I mooved to Steve Huston and his method makes more sense. Any advise for translating it to an anime/manga style?
>>154523393Find an artist/mangaka you like and copy then apply what you learned to independant pieces
>>154523415Pretty much this. Most systematic drawing systems are about landmarks and proportions, and anime styles just exaggerate those landmarks of proportions(or smooth them over entirely). Pic related; the planes of the face and arm are really obvious her in a way most anime doesn't highlight. That all said...why are you asking this on /co/? And even then, not in a draw thread?
>>1545233931. Learn the basics like stick figures and simple shape construction2. buy some tracing paper and get some manga3. trace over the various illustration with the simple shapes until you the hang of it 4.continue with more complex shapes and learn the proper proportions of the style you are emulating
don't. we have enough artists. There's enough. We don't need more. Go find a job that's lesser risk.
>>154525111Damn...
>>154523393I'd tell you to look for advice in /ic/ instead of /co/ but that board is a complete meme, it's only usable by artists who already made it so they can circlejerk each other and humblebrag.
>>154523393goodluck anon
>>154526913No one on /ic/ drawsIt's just crabs like >>154525111
>>154523393Take this from someone who learned it too late in life: learning how to sculpt anatomy is the ultimate force multiplier for drawing skills.
>>154523393>>>/a/
>>154527562Sculpting? As in... three dimensions?
>>154523999>why are you asking this on /co/? And even then, not in a draw thread? Not OP but /ic/ is a bucket of crabs. They pretend they don't want the fame, popularity, and clout that comes from being an online artist and despise anyone who actually has it regardless of how they got it
>>154528821Yes
>>154528865>Not OP but /ic/ is a bucket of crabs. They are, which is why I didn't suggest them. I was thinking a draw thread on this board or /a/.
Do NOT browse /ic/. Just grab the resources, brushes, videos, references, books and guides. Focus on drawing stuff you like so you actually enjoy drawing and making stuff. Then, look back and see what you need to improve on and go from there. Don't overwhelm yourself on doing so much, do one thing at a time.Drawing is a skill that takes years and years of refinement.
>>154525111>art jobs suck, so don’t bother learning to drawWhat is with this board acting like everyone who wants to draw aspires to a shitty art job, do you forget you used to like the act of drawing
>>154529558Ah, okay.
