I feel like with how the comic has been building up, multiple terrible things are about to happen back to back and the next few issues are going to be the climax of the series. Then again, I'm not 100% sure how long gloomy wants to stretch this out, things could sorta plateau again or the comic could do a 180 and things actually get better, but I feel like that's a bit unlikely.

Maybe the reason for the reboot was so instead of having the kitten die, Marcus adopts her. IIRC Gloomy worked in childcare for a time so maybe this will be her way of commenting on autist caregiver struggles since Peter is too high functioning for that.
