Last time, M-Day led chaos as most of the students lost their powers, including Sofia and David. Wither thought he had but accidentally rotted Laurie's arm which led to him running away from the school. Emma began taking the remaining powered students and training them. Hellion, Surge, Elixir, Rockslide, Dust, Mercury and (to Emma's chagrin) new student X-23 were the ones who eventually were chosen to be the New X-Men. At the same time, William Stryker had seemingly gained precognitive abilities saving certain people to join his rebuilt Purifiers. He mutilated Jay Guthrie, who'd come to his church to pray over the death of Julia Cabot, and when the school was sending off the depowered students the Purifiers lauched an attack, blowing up the bus the kids were on.Today is New X-Men #24-27

I suspect the reason they spared Sofia though was to make her look bad to further their Julian/Laura ship. If Sofia is on the bus and gets blown up Julian probably isn't going to get over it. But Sofia randomly deciding to distance herself from him and then taking off without saying goodbye makes her look like a bitch and allows him to have a clean break from her without any lingering feelings which means he can be pushed together with X-23 easier.That's just me speculating though.

>>154556417Just in case anyone doesn't realize it, this is a redraw of the last page of Uncanny X-Men #191 which is Nimrod's first appearance.Basically, Nimrod is created in the DoFP timeline, tries to jump back to the present but screws up and ends up only a few years in the past. Gets that version of Forge to fix his time device and then goes back to the past where he ends up in the church discovered by Stryker. After he awakens again, he goes to Dallas to get Forge to repair him but the NXM send him back.In other words, this story timeloops. The NXM are the reason Nimrod shows up in UXM #191. That Nimrod is the one that will fight the X-Men, go through Siege Perilous and eventually become Bastion.
