I feel like there was a missed opportunity to really explore the comedy/tragedy theme of Gangle's design. As the saying goes, the difference between a comedy and a tragedy is sympathy/distance. Gangle could have started out as more of a willing participant in Jax's antics (while still always being the victim of them), only starting to appreciate her situation as tragic when Zooble pulls her away from Jax's vortex and enables her to have sympathy for herself.Instead not only is her comedy mask never really used in earnest, but her growth is about her wearing her tragedy mask only, as if it's her "true" self.Gangle's also just not remotely a dramatic character, and seems generally bewildered by Jax's antics rather than recognising the role he's trying to play, and trying to force her to play, so I don't know why she's designed after a theatrical motif.It just seems very arbitrary and surface level in the end.
