>Be careful what you wish for
I literally just explained every single episode of the Fairly Odd Parents. Never has I seen a more formulaic show last for as long as FOP did.
>>
Being formulaic isn't bad as long as you make it entertaining. See Tom & Jerry.

what else can you do with said premise?
Timmy has to fuck up somehow or else there are no obstacles to overcome
>>

Personally, I find that "Da Rulez" (usually) helps balance things out so it doesn't become a boring show where Timmy gets whatever he wants. They tend not to be enforced quite as much in seasons 6-10, but it's a better idea than adding some Glup Shitto character to the main cast.

Why would you openly admit to having watched that much of Fairly OddParents? It's common knowledge to drop the series once the baby shows up
>>
>>154595924
But the fun is seeing Timmy's slow descent into corruption and holding the world hostage to his chaotic whims.

zoomers are idiots
>>
>>154595924
The bigger issue is:
>make joke
>make reference to that joke 5 times throughout the episode
Why do they do this?

It wasn't when I was younger, because Nick loved spamming the post-Poof episodes.

you never watched Phineas and Ferb?

this post reminds me of the hunt

Abracatastrophe>Channel Chasers. There, I said it.

that some serious reductionism

*whip crack*
not quite as long, but it did get a continuation
>>

Same, the FOP intro but with monkeys elevated that episode above Channel Chasers. (Besides, CC only had one interesting reference, the rest were some boomer HBslop and an anime.)

Uh... the internet?

I thought Wishology was alright..

Sound designer was obviously having a field day.

You're being too generous. The plots started becoming completely braindead around the fourth season
>>

>around the fourth season
You have a point, they completely ruined Vicky's character. "Vicky Loses Her Icky" was where the flanderization all began, Wanda even says
>Wow! Vicky seems extra mean today!
Then that became her default character throughout the rest of the series.
>>
>show retroactively le bad because the creator voted for manne de oranje
>>

As a whole? Yeah, FOP is a mixed quality show. Not for political reasons, but because Butch himself made some of the poorest choices conceivable. (Like hiring boomer sitcom writers and the Coconut Fred/Bubsy people.)
>>
>>154600708
Season 4 is still solid, season 5 was when the flanderization for just about every character hit like a truck
School's out was the last time FOP had any heart which is technically the last episode of S4 even though it aired during S5
>>
>>154598463
NTA but I saw a lot of post-Poof FOP because I was still in the target demographic post-Poof
>>
>>154595924
I'd say Phineas and Ferb is even more formulaic
>>
>>154602124
It's literally Groundhog Day: The Animated Series.
>>
I'm glad nobody so far has brought up and criticized Pinky and the Brain, that show is awesome.
>>
>>154595924
That's not a formula, it's a premise. The shows are almost obsessively novel in execution, almost as if they were written by a guy who used to do sitcoms and soap operas.

Uh yeah, about that...
