People are flawed and there's even the outright malevolent cunt relative of Arnold. We see Phoebe's old school in an ep where she's terrified that Frizzle will be a freak and embarrass her in front of the teacher she's idealised in her memories. Some 'jokes' don't land or make sense but on balance it's pleasant.
