So are modern episodic cartoons just not allowed to be anything but slice of life comedies? We've had numerous serialized shows taking up the mantle of "the next Avatar" or "the next Gravity Falls" but I've yet to see any episodic cartoon that's even within an iota of "the next Samurai Jack" or "the next Batman TAS"
Because anime exists.
