Is the League of Comic Geeks a good website to get comics online? Been thinking about getting into comics recently, especially when it comes to DC’s Absolute Universe but I don’t know where to buy comics online. What does /co/ recommend for new people getting into comics?
>>154605430Fuck off
>>154605430>get comics onlineAnon....it's not a market platformIt's four thingsA. A social network for fans (though I don't use it for that)B. A way to keep track of your pulls and collection C. A review site for comicsD. A database meant to catalog information like release dates and credits and character appearances It's the best site for information ever since comicbookdb died but its not a place where you can actually buy or read comicst. Rank 4 contributor there
>>154605430>What does /co/ recommend for new people getting into comics? If you don't have an LCS, you can still buy digital but if you're short on cash or don't have the option at all there are various sites you can use of varying quality.Getting into comics is honestly no different than any other medium. If someone asked me recommendations, I'd just ask what kind of comics are they interested in period or what types of games, films, animations, books, etc they like Work of that instead of risking recommending something you like but they necessarily won'tAs for resources, yeah LOCG is great to keep up with upcoming releases but it's not perfectThe search engine is heavily flawed because essential information hasn't been fully filled out yet and necessary filters are locked behind a paywallThat said, concerning strictly direct market releases by all means it's a better site than even the actual publishers'

>>154607079It's a mostly male hobby, but female comic nerds exist
>>154605430The absolute series is good and get them. But modern ones are hit or miss.
>>154607079Female comic nerds are VERY intense from personal experience.

>>154606724Here's mine. This is just floppies, I haven't gotten around to adding my trades, which would bump Marvel and DC up quite a bit
>>154609724Nah, it's just a hobby she brought up during a streamIt's not her gimmick
>>154609981Still rare for a woman to be into comics

>>154610333No not reallyGo to your local library's graphic novel section
>>154610718I do. There’s rarely anyone there, and the few that are there are men/boys. I do live in the suburbs, I’ll probably try the city then.

>>154605469>It's the best site for information ever since comicbookdb diedComicvine betterFor DC, mikesamazingworld.com
If you're buying print books check the big stores like Amazon, DCBS, etc. for discounts. If you're looking to read digitally, legally, and you're an American, always check Libby. You'd be surprised how many trades are available through the library system.Otherwise get the DC/Marvel digital subscriptions.Floppies and the direct market should have died decades ago.
