Its fantastic. I watched it back in the day on cartoon network and didnt care much but watching it as an adult is ALOT more enjoyable. The themes and writing are clearly not for children. Any other shows like this heavily about the occult with mature writing?
bump
>>154606478>Any other shows like this heavily about the occult with mature writing?Gargoyles exists.Real Ghostbusters was pretty good about it before the Q5 shakeupMighty Max gets occasional threads. Mostly gooning it to multiheaded wolf lady, but it counts as well.
>>154606478>>154606731Just go for the fantastic reboot
>>154607053>GargoylesThats actually my favorite cartoon lol.>Real GhostbustersIll check it out >Mighty Max This gets occultic? Nice>>154607238>Just go for the fantastic rebootWill do
>>154606478who tf spells it JONNY?
>>154607349Kino taaste
>>154606478does this show have an episode where they go to a parallel universe full of inca people with bird heads?
>>154609470>taaste Not a real word.
>>154611090Possibly. Im still early in season 1 but so far there are alot of paranormal episodes.
>>154606478I wish we had more of this.Yet better, a new JQ show that is essentially a time-progressive one where in each season Johnny and co. would get a tad older and Johnny would end up as this cool action-adventure scientist dude living up to his father's legacy.
>>154612089At one point, I remember imagining a sequel series where the now adult trio use that time travel tech from near the end of the series (Edge of Yesterday, probably my favorite episode) to invisibly view history occasionally getting more involved. Also, Bandit is immortal from that fountain of youth he drank from once. I think it would have been pretty cool, idea has probably missed its window of opportunity though.
Back in the day, CN put What A Cartoon shorts on Jonny Quests VHS.
...So saysThe Book of Rage.
>>154612268Were they set before or after the Real Jonny episode?
Needed more bigfoots and cursed pearls. I took the Tron world for cheap filler and I'm depressed now thinking about how expensive that had to be for 1995.
>>154612251Big shame nobody thought about this...
Last time I rewatched the series, I remembered how back in the day I always filtered out that episode where Questworld was 2d and not cgi. Actually there were two of those but at least the other one used the premise it was entering someones mind and had cgi sequences to frame it.
>>154608879Jonny Quest does, you got a problem with that?
>>154610401Hahah, funny crossover
>>154616251Post the comico cover
>>154606478never heard of this
Ezekiel Rage's backstory of being a government agent left to the wolves by his own organization is surprisingly dark, it would be rare that even an adult aimed show would use such a storyline since it's really damning of the US government in a way that can be really controversial.
>>154617402It amazes me how forgotten this show kind of is now. Cartoon Network advertised the shit out of it in the lead up to the premiere. Every commercial break was "THE PREMIERE OF THE REAL ADVENTURES OF JONNY QUEST IS 5 DAYS AWAY." And then on the day it aired every commercial break was "THE PREMIERE OF THE REAL ADVENTURES OF JONNY QUEST IS 5 HOURS AWAY."
>>154618745a few years (year?) before Real Adventures kinda became a thing there was this whole push for animation on TNT, like...they couldn't makeup their mind on just putting everything on CN or something.but i distinctly remember quite enjoying Johnny Quest vs the Cyber Insects.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-X-DyflVP8
>>154606478I watched it when I was a youngin but i don't remember much of anything. Just the theme song and like one image in my head from goofy tron segments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uuJULBkHG4I should give it a rewatch one day.

>>154618745>>154619156Turner was determined to make this show a hit, but once Dragon Ball Z landed on the Toonami block, Jonny very quickly became yesterday's news.
