It’s a miracle The Batman exists but even if it didn’t I doubt Gunn would be doing anything with the character anyway. He doesn’t like Batman. Say what you will about Snyder but he did 2 important things. He focused on the characters that actually mattered and delivered good epic presentation that could get butts in theaters. Gunn doesn’t really have anything going for him except poop comedy and needle drops. His scripts are amateur, his visuals are bland, and he not focusing on the titular DC characters. So he has his comedy, but that’s a dead genre at the box office and it’s grown stale in the context of the superhero genre. Supergirl was the natural result of a bad product and there’s no one else to blame for that except Gunn who stood thoroughly stood behind it.
