Rebirth was a decade ago; was this the last time DC readers felt excitement and hope that things were going well? Or has the current era of DC All In with Absolute Universe surpassed it?
I guess. It fucked itself into the ground harder and faster than New 52 did is all it's remembered for.
>>154612217DC Rebirth was great, then didio hated himself and killed bringin bendis to DC.I guess ABSOLUTE DC is another light and success in DC Comics.
>>154612217>was this the last time DC readers felt excitement and hope that things were going well? No.Most DC fans stopped caring after New 52 flopped.>Or has the current era of DC All In with Absolute Universe surpassed it?No, as bad as Rebirth was, All-In and Absolute era is even worse.
>>154612292>I guess ABSOLUTE DC is another light and success in DC Comics.Yeah, just like Nu-Ultimate Marvel was another light and success in Marvel Comics. When Absolute Crisis happens in 2028 and Snyder once again proves that edginess can't make up for a lack of talent, everyone will instantly forget about it. It will be just like how everyone forgot about Hickman's Ultimate Universe by now when it turned out to be yet another one of his nothingburgers.
>>154612377>When Absolute Crisis happens in 2028 and Snyder once again proves that edginess can't make up for a lack of talent, everyone will instantly forget about it.That's probably my main reason why I haven't touched the Absolute Universe yet, because of the imminent Crisis that's going to happen and that's going to screw everything up. Why can't it remain completely isolated?
>>154612217>was this the last time DC readers felt excitement and hope that things were going wellYesAnd then within months that was dashed by Lee, Didio and Snyder announcing metal which was just more new 52 misery bullshit.
>>154612292Absolute Batman is the only sales success for absolute. Martian Manhunter is the only good book.
They killed the momentum and cohesion bringing BENIS and ruining doomsday clock. It was over here because all the plans were dropped.
>>154612217It does feel similarly revitalized. They’re also doing stuff that makes the world feel more cohesive, which is cool. Like with the introduction of the supermen project, which connects Firestorm, Doom Patrol, Metal Men, Metamorpho, and Captain Atom
>>154612628And yet Absolute green arrow and Catwoman still beat out the avengers, Spider-Man, and the x men. Quite embarrassing
>>154614273If I remember correctly the Supermen project was introduced in Doomsday Clock that was directly connected with Rebirth
>>154612217It seemed really really incredibly unnecessary when they just did New 52 like 5 years earlier. Now they wanted to reboot the universe AGAIN? What the fuck was the point? All this led to was...Death Metal, that no one gave a fuck about, and Snyder's clusterfuck of a JLA with Perpetua and Martian Lex that led nowhere. Annoying Laffy Bats as the universal big bad for some damn reason. And a boring Watchmen tie-in.
>>154614369>It seemed really really incredibly unnecessary when they just did New 52 like 5 years earlier. Now they wanted to reboot the universe AGAIN? What the fuck was the point? You realize of course that was the entire point right? They rebooted again because the first time didn't work out as well as they wanted to in the long run.
>>154614411So DC was going to force a company-wide reboot each and every time Didio got a bug up his ass about the books not being silver age nostalgic enough?
>>154614454ProbablyRemember that he was gonna do 5G next and the rumor was that it would be done in a way that if it fell through he could force another reboot after that
