>>154618060Not really. The way Bending is passed down seems to be a combination of genetics, location and spirituality with spirituality and location being a much more important factor. Certain place in the world seem to produce certain kind of benders because of the spirtual make up of that land. The poles produce more water benders because the moon and ocean spirits presence are strongest there. So the longer a people love there the more likely they'll have water bender kinds. The chances increase if the people there practice water tribe beliefs and traditions. For example if you have two water benders who live in one of the poles who practice water tribe beliefs than they are almost always guaranteed to have water bender kids. If one is a non benders than as long as they're from that same nation and both practice water bender beleifes than water bender kids are still likely. However once you start removing one or more of these factors the chances for bender kids diminishes. If one is from another nation and doesn't practice water tribe beliefs than the chance for water bemding kids drops. If they leave the poles than the chance drops even further. And the genitic make up of your parents seems to matter a lot more than that of grandparents or other relatives. It doesn't matter if a grandparent was half air nomad if both parents are earth benders. They will never have air bender kids. It doesn't skip a generations like that.
