>>154623634The reason why Annie's hair looks purplish is its low saturation. The same way that yellow looks greenish at low brightness. RGB or cmyk are not good representations of how humans see colors, they are just easy ways to express all the colors humans can see with numbers. The color wheel does not actually represent human perception of color. The same red in the color wheel can be very brown or very purple depending on saturation and brightness.

>>154624941Yes, but thry don't all see the same amount of different colors. Our cones aren't each assigned a value from 0 to 255. We see way more green than other colors for example, which explains why yellow can very quickly dip into shades of green if you lower brightness even slightly. Some colors inhabit much larger spaces in the rgb gamut and because of that some colors inhabit much smaller spaces. In human color perception Annie's hair is about as far away from purple as it is from red, even though numerically it may be much closer to red than to purple (if you consider purple the middle point between blue and red).
This feels less like building suspense and more like stalling.
