Alright I've been thinking>We know for certain that there is indeed readership for comics globally and even among the young who likely emerged during COVID>However due to accessibility problems they cannot legally acquire said comics and resort to piracy >But regardless if they could even buy the comic or not, their money is worthless in determining if the comic doesn't get cancelled or not>To have any say in the matter you'd absolutely have to be an American with an LCS and enough money to have a pull list (assuming this is direct market titles)>This of course helps lead to titles like Ultimate Wolverine (which the younger crowd loathes) outperforming Ultimate X-Men (which they love) for example>And the interest of the foreign crowd is functionally worthless, the cancelation mark for comics is so low that any comic that does get a worthwhile sales boost thanks to online word of mouth likely never needed it to begin with I'm not saying if it should or shouldn't be the case and let's ignore the obvious logistics problems but if the industry were to take into account global readership popularity rather than domestic sales what would happen? Is there anything a 20 something year old Argentinian, Mexican, Turkish, Italian, Romanian, Saudi Arabian, Vietnamese, Indian, Pakistani, Polish, etc fan likes that'd be at the detriment of an actual paying American?
