Quite possibly the worst retcon in the history of comics. And it's nuts that people just accept it and gaslight people while ignoring the 52 years when he was straight as straight could be. But they don't read any comics written before they got into comics either.
TFW his entries in the Marvel Encyclopedia editions after the retcon use more than half of the entry to talk about the sexual orientation. Pic related is the last edition that actually talked about him like an actual character.
You can never hate Bendis enough for what he does to ANY character he's touched.
It would have been so easy to just say that he's bi. That would let him be attracted to men without retconning away his longtime interest in women, not to mention I'm pretty sure bi male characters in comics are even rarer than gay male characters in comics so if they were doing it for representation that would have been even better.

I only own one comic with Iceman in it and it relates to an affair he was having with Emma Frost. There's no way that man is gay.
