Most of the Xavier's students were pulled into Limbo by Belasco who was searching for Illyana after catching a vision of her from the House of M reality. Illyana herself, or rather a soulless version recreated by Belasco, went after Pixie pulling out part of her soul to create a bloodstone in hopes of regaining her full soul. The kids and Illyana were able to temporarily defeat Belasco and return to Earth with Illyana becoming the new ruler of Limbo. Back at the mansion, the fallout from everything resulted in Surge and Prodigy breaking up when Nori pushed David away thinking it would protect him while Pixie and Anole were officially added to the team and made full members. The X-Men went to a town in Alaska in order to find the first mutant born since M-Day only to find the aftermath of a battle between the Purifiers and Maurauders. To get any information, Madrox and Layla Miller were sent to the future while the New X-Men on their own went to attack the Purifiers who were allied with Lady Deathstrike and the Reavers. The X-Men attacked the Marauders thinking they had the baby but were told that someone else taken the child before anyone had even gotten to Alaska. Unknown to anyone else, it was Cable.Today is Messiah Complex part 2.Previous >>154614898

That's basically it for the O*N*E until it gets revived during Krakoa and the current stuff.
This is basically a soft launch for the X-Force book that will replace New X-Men after this since all these characters, minus Caliban and Hepzibah, will be part of it. Actually now that I'm thinking about it, I don't remember what happened with Hepzibah being on the X-Men. She's still there after the move to San Francisco but she just kind of stops showing up with no explanation and is then back with Corsair.

>>154642007okay they just traced a pic of Patrick Stewart for top left
>>154642084And James Marsden for the Cyclops. One of the things I hate most from the 2000s, which I think came from Hitch on the Ultimates, was the tendency to just draw or trace images of celebrities and use them for the characters i.e.
>>154642106Whoops, meant to say i.e. using Tommy Lee Jones for Norman and the like. It just feels incredibly lazy and all it does is take me out of the comic instead of going "Cool, it's Patrick Stewart just like in the movies!"

>>154642153Goddamn Warpath is tiny
>>154642591Bad art of course. Warpath's official height his 7'2". Also, I really wish they didn't bring back Thunderbird. He sucked and nobody missed him or thought his death was a grave injustice. Warpath filled the role of hot blooded big Indian but is an immensely better character so bringing him back is really pointless.
Like everyone else, Caliban comes back during Krakoa. I think he's leading the Morlocks now.
>>154642648>Bad art of course. Warpath's official height his 7'2"I get you have to boost Logan's height up for scenes like this otherwise you can't take him seriously but it's still funny when you know>Warpath filled the role of hot blooded big Indian but is an immensely better character so bringing him back is really pointless.Warpath fucking rules and his chunk of time in the Weapon X ongoing was great

Yep, this is that issue.Anyway that's it for today. Next time will finish up this diversion with the last part of Messiah Complex.
>>154643175How was the reaction to this originally? This is one of the few storylines i missed when i stopped buying physical comics in my home country and swapped to pirating them in the win-o threads cause of money issues
>>154643369I don't quite remember off the top of my head and a lot of that discourse is lost to the wind but I'm pretty sure it was mixed.
