Is it just me or did anyone else remember Dipper and Mabel's parents being divorced with each of them having custody of one of them?? I feel like this was a major plot element but apparently its not a thing anymore?
>>154653277never heard of this, you might be confusing this with fanon? but even then I don't recall that being popular fanon either.
>>154653277Maybe you just read too much fanfiction
>>154653277The parents aren't mentioned at all outside of the fact they sent them to live with Stan for the summer.
>>154653277>Is it just me or did anyone else remember Dipper and Mabel's parents being divorced with each of them having custody of one of them??Are you sure you aren't just mixing up Gravity Falls with Wylde Pak? That's the plot of Wylde Pak. That's also the plot of this Baby Sitter's Club comic Dawn on the Coast. Dipper and Mabel both live in Piedmont, CA and are sent to Gravity Falls by their parents. The intro of the first episode has a scene where the parents- shown just as their hands, help Dipper and Mabel get ready to go to Gravity Falls. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXF5Cof28iY
>>154653277are you confusing this with that movie where the twin girls meet at summer camp and switch places?
>>154653277in bill's book he mentioned dipper overhearing his parents fighting and worrying about a divorce. that's as far as anything like that goes
>>154653277I think you're mixing up /co/ discussions about clues of a possible divorce. The root of which was the fact they were sent to live with an estranged uncle out of the blue. There is no concrete information in the show pointing to this, just theorycrafting by bored fans.
>>154653277Mabel SO cute.
>>154653277You might be thinking of sadfics where they get split upTheir parents are definitely like, checked out. and that works great for fanfiction. I never have to worry about depicting them or explaining why the pines would leave for gravity falls permanently...
>>154653277No, OP, that's an anime trope.
>>154653277That's Joey and Serenity in Yugioh, silly. It's also a horrific thing to do and both parents would have to be monsters to actually arrange that shit. Which is why I'm certain it happens in divorce court all the time.
>>154654871It was the norm for most of the (brief) history of divorce. My dad's parents did that, and there's a classic borscht-belt joke about a couple divorcing and realizing there's an odd number of kids so they can't split them up fairly.
>>154654899Your parents should be strung up.
>>154653277I remember his parents going to Taco Bell.
>>154653277Anon you made that up. You fully made that up. It's intriguing, but that's not true
>>154654955because my dad and his sister got split up as kids? they didn't exactly have a choice.what was really funny is both parents remarried and both gave him a new half-brother and they named him the same thing
>>154654998oh sorry, I misread "my dad's parents" as "my parents." Lemme correct myself:You dad's parents should be strung up.
>>154655014they did their best. Grandpa doesn't even blame his wife for leaving him, he said he spent too much time on college getting degree after degree til he was a straight-up rocket scientist.last I heard from dad before he croaked though, he said his mom was still nuts. so maybe you can use less string. I mean you are talking about a woman in her 90s, but also one approaching six feet tall, so
>>154653497is book of bill worth buying for a casual fan? i see a bunch of em at my local bookstore
>>154653277Did you read those comics on Tumblr where Grunkle Stan raised Dipper? It’s not like that in the show, obviously, the first episode shows both kids and parents in the same room, and it was never mentioned that they were separated
>>154655093it should be okay. I mean you've seen the show, right? I don't know how you can be a casual fan of a tv show.
>>154655437yeah, i just meant im not obsessed with all the codes and stuff
>>154655093to be honest i was pretty into it as it was airing but i feel like book of bill sort of tips the scale a bit on the edginess and made me not want to pick it up. it just felt like it ruined the fun balance of the show by having "dipper fears his parents will get divorced" shit here, stan selling his body there, bill sitting next to someone getting their bloody head ripped off with a pool of blood under it too (this was a reference to a famous painting or something i forget the name of)
>>154655564oh that. yeah yeah it's still good without thatthere's codes in there with more little snippets but it's always like 'ooh Soos might be a dad soon'you can just look up all of that shit.>>154655635That feels pretty in the spirit of the show to me
>>154655822the stan one i guess but i didn't need "dipper fears a divorce because they fight" realism or actual gore
>>154656668hittin too close to home eh?it's okay. Dipper has Mabel, and the two best Grunkles ever. and Wendy. and Soos. He's gonna be okay.
>>154653277My mandela effect was thinking this show was ever any good, when it's average at best. I find that its cons outweigh the pros, especially with the twin brother twist. There's nothing that nags me more than when a show admits its writing is bad.
what about the gravity falls twincest effect
>>154658617Best thing to ever come out of Gravity Falls
>>154658960They are cute and perfect together.
>>154659048What would she be like as a girlfriend? Compared to Wendy, Mabel is a little...off
>>154659148oh you know.. nibbling your face.. baking you erotic cakes.. putting googly eyes on your wiener while you sleep
>>154659283Where can I find good Mabel x Dipper comics? Also sounds like a good time!
>>154659354...https://www.jabarchives.com/main/gallery/ColdFusion/797now I want to go on the record here, I would have posted DoublePines first if there was a single repository for her shit.
Mabel getting snatched by a white panel van, and Grunkle Stan having to retrieve her as a drug-addled child porn star
>>154659424anon that's nastywhy can't you do a similar concept but with some class? something funny and pleasant and just two or three lines over what Disney would allow?like Mabel goes into a van and the guy gives her lots of candy, and then she's like 'grunkle stan told me 'if a stranger offers you a ride, take it' so are we going anywhere?' and you know, maybe he gets flustered and asks to see her panties, and she gives him a spare out of her bag, and then she goes home unscathed but full of candy.
>>154659450Mostly because I'm not a faggot like you.
>>154659474well considering a faggot actually puts his dick into an area full of shit, I'm gonna have to conclude that people who like gross things are more akin to that kind.
>Tiny Pines>Too tiny for your mind>And when you keep in mind that they are tiny Pines, you'd better underliiiine
