The word 'yoink' exists because of The Simpsons. The animated sitcom still existing is because of The Simpsons. The lax outlook on crude language ('damn' 'hell' etc...) is directly due to The Simpsons and its impact on pop culture and one could infer that the escalation ('bitch' and 'bastard' are also now things you are allowed to say on TV) can be traced back to that as well. I think The Simpsons is probably second only to Star Wars in terms of commercialization and consumerist whoring out as well so it can be viewed as a seminal work regarding product integration as well.IDGAF if you want to argue that Family Guy is funnier than The Simpsons but there is no rational argument to be made that FG will ever be more influential than The Simpsons. Honestly I think that the only show that comes close to having the same impact on pop culture might be SNL or something like that. You could make strong arguments for X-Files, Flintstones/Honeymooners, and Twilight Zone if just looking at TV but when looking at society/culture as a whole The Simpsons is in a league of its own.

Some people call the local convenience store "the Kwik-e-Mart." Saying "ha-ha" like Nelson is something I've heard bullies do. Bart Simpson was seen as a highly revolutionary and controversial character in opposition to the sitcoms of the time.
