Reminder that episodes 7 & 8 were originally one shorter episode that got expanded and split into two. The button choice seems like it should have caused way more conflict but it just kind of goes away one conversation. It makes sense but isn't super satisfying, and you know it only played out that way because they came up with the button plotline at the very last minute and didn't want to spend like half an episode resolving it. They just needed to get it out of the way ASAP so they could get back to the story they wanted to tell.
