The Absolute Solver being stopped (in fact, not even that - every Worker Drone character except maybe Doll not fucking dying in the pilot episode) can be directly traced to J not properly proceeding with N's deactivation after he started aking too many questions. She had just plugged the kill chip into him and flew away, not even bothering to check if it started working (it did, but Uzi, hiding nearby, was able to reverse its effects and fully convert N to her side).I always read it as a genre-standard villain stupidity, but this short's context allows for another interpretation - J did a sloppy job because she does feel guilty doing that to N, and who knows - maybe she does subconsciously sabotage Cyn's directives in small ways whenever she has a chance (although she certainly doesn't do it consciously). If that is true, then J had actually helped to save the universe, too!
