Hey this shit rocks
Absolute Cringe
>>154688813The art is shit.
>>154688823Could certainly do with something more surreal but it's cool
>>154688813I'll check it out. If it blows, I'm going to take a shit on it.
>>154689503Post pics if you do
I enjoyed it. Despair-The-Zero was a definite highlight.
>>154688813Can't stand it, personally.
>>154691250How come?
>>154691751Hate AbsoluteHate DCHate you
>>154691762Could you elaborate on that?
>>154688813i like but the intrusive thoughtskeep me from loving it
>>154688823The art is good shit.
>>154688813First 6 issues were good, not great but really good. The second half was kinda mid.
>>154692254No, he can't. He's another miserable retarded chud here who dislikes everything.
>>154688813It consistently looked really good. And Despair The Zero was a lot of fun.
>>154688813It's great and still a good ending, but you can really feel Camp taking the deal to make a different series and quickly wrapping up
>>154688813First half is better than the second but Despair The Zero is the most entertaining character in the book and the highlight of the second half.
>>154692504Only faggots use the word "chud" like that.
I want this comic but I know damn well the instant I buy the hardcovers they're going to announce an all-inclusive deluxe or absolute edition that has better paper stock and a laeger size.
>>154696021Just use library.
Despair-The-Zero my main man
>>154688813I made the mistake of taking vaguepost /co/ntrarian "reviews" of it here seriously, then I read it once it was finished. If there's even a shred of empathy in your body, you'll enjoy it. Which is probably why the psychopathic retards here don't.As a more serious review, the art serves it fantastically. Nothing is wasted, nothing feels extraneous, and it only becomes decompressed for very specific beats where decompression fits.>>154692564I think the final issue is a little compressed in the pacing, but it was the only one that felt like that to me and I'd consider it a pretty small price to pay for a complete, satisfying ending. And the fist bump really got to me. How could it not?
>>154697960>If there's even a shred of empathy in your body, you'll enjoy it.That's sounds really gay, my dude.Empathy has nothing to do with it if the quality isn't good.
>caring about the wellbeing of your fellow man is gayWonder which bad idea # that one has.
>>154688819Absolute Cocksucker
>>154688813Weed
>>154699683Dude
>>154699100You don't care, though.
>>154699683It's more psychidelics
>>154701499>psychidelicspsychedelics
>>154697960>If there's even a shred of empathy in your body, you'll enjoy it.>>154699100>caring about the wellbeing of your fellow man is gayThe politics in this thread are as on the sleeve as the book. If you're not a raging radical leftist, this book is awful.
i'm beginning to think a lot of the people complaining haven't actually read the book
>>1547037764chan is half bots nowadays so I wouldn't take anything posted here seriously anymore.
>>154703776I read all twelve issues of this schlock. Like all of Camp's books, the art carries mediocre to awful writing. There's no difference between this and Ultimates. He wants to be Mark Millar and Grant Morrison so badly, but he doesn't understand what made them work. He relies on cheap and tired gimmicks that would only impress only people new to comics who think the medium is nothing but spandex people punching each other. I have yet to read a single thing from him that is not bland and forgettable.
Why did the final issue tease a new villain if it was going to end anyways?
>>154697960Most people here are pretty positive about it you faggot ass shill. It’s the only absolute book that isnt gutter shit. But the second half is pretty weak compared to the first half. All in all it was a good, certainly not great, comic with spectacular art.
>>154703800and half the rest of /co/ is vagueposting larpers with nothing but surface level political complaints who get their opinions from youtubers too illiterate for It's Jeff.the primary character lesson for the primary character is literally "don't neglect your family," and said family is straight and white>>154703912makes it easier to revisit if they want to. it's a thread to pull on, explains where the second-half antagonists came from, and doesn't make for much of a cliffhanger.
>>154703965So which are you retard? A vagueposter or a bot? Qft and go back you insufferable faggot
>people who mention specific details are vagueposters or bots>why?>idunno, vague insinuations or some shiti'd say they aren't sending their best, but i think they actually are
>>154704546To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Deniz Camp.
>>154703817>There's no difference between this and Ultimates.Sure there is. Writing a team book well is considerably more difficult.
>>154706223>Writing a team book well is considerably more difficult.Which he failed at.
>>154703817>mediocre to awful writingSuch as? What's bad about the story?
>>154688813kys faggot shill
>>154707363As bad as the story is, it's the gimmicks that really get me. I could deal with the story, and even the absurd nonsensical politics, if all of Camp's work didn't reek like he was either ashamed of the medium or, at the very least, wasn't confident in his writing ability. Ultimates, AMM, and Assorted Crisis Events all rely on using obnoxious gimmicks that have been used for decades. Rising Stars did the whole holding the page to light thing way better, for instance. Bad comics with great art a dime a dozen, but it feels like he sees himself above the medium with the frequency he does it. You can't polish a turd with cheap parlor tricks. Just focusing on telling a story, man. There's a reason when Morrison does it that it usually works and it's because he's been telling a story first.
>>154707363pretty obvious he didn't actually read it.
>>154709235Anon, I literally replied. >>154708693 Strange how you don't seem to have a single defense for criticism other than "you didn't read it."
>>154707051Of course.
>>154709536he asked you about what you didn't like about the story and you whined about a formatting gimmick that everyone knows the book has because there were a ton of blog posts about it. you still haven't said anything specific you didn't like about the story.you're just a larping /co/ntrarian.
>>154709719>a ton of blog postsLol wutWho the fuck reads that and not the comic
>>154709719I don't read blogs, anon. Again, you're not addressing my complaints and continue to claim that I didn't read it.
