Caine snaps out of stress and Zooble being extraordinarily difficult every episode, but even at his worst, he doesn't derive any pleasure from it; he just wants everyone to have fun. Just before he was deleted, he realized he'd gone too far, and wanted to apologize.Contrast with Jax. Jax never regrets anything. Jax understands he's torturing others, and continues to do so. He's given every opportunity to be saved, to be included, and rejects it every time. Jax was lame and predictable from day one. Jax got what he deserved. Pain being able to alter their minds was a very important plot point in multiple episodes with this sense of Horror and dread... and then it's just dropped. Abstraction changes from going insane, very heavily pushed that it was cane messing with your mind that caused this, to just being sad that the rabbit guy you've known for a few months suddenly doesn't want to hang out for a week or two after you've made him uncomfortable. The tonal whiplash of this show going from fairly light comedy with a bit of slight existential horror to.... meaningless drivel in the last episode.If after Kane had died they just sat around and did nothing what would actually change about the ending except Jax wouldn't be dead? This is one of the worst written final episodes I've ever seen.
