Oh shit. Thanks. I really thought it was going to be released at 12AM Pacific.
>>
Wait it's out?
>>
>>154706144
Watching it now. The first episode was pretty good, the Caesar episode kind of sucked until the scene st Ladybird's grave. The phishing episode was good. So far it's better than S14.
>>
Steely Dan mentioned!
>I hate Steely Dan, I don't even know what genre it is
Already best season.

HANK BUY WEED
>>
Enjoying it. Kahn still sounds like shit and he's out of character in his episode with Bill. There's some great ones and some weaker ones.

Dude weed lmao.
>>
>>154706144
Is it still animated like shit like a web cartoon?
>>
Oh my fucking god they have a trans chicken.
>>
Oh jesus fucking christ they're doing a "disliking trans is bad" episode. Good things can't last forever.
>>
Dale's delivery is bad. I can tell when it's supposed to be funny but the edge isn't there. Then again it was no better when Johnny did the revival.
>>
>>154707326
KotH stopped bing good in 2004.
>>

What about chickens being trans?
>>
>>154707350
A hen turned into a rooster, which is an actual thing, then some random characters bitched about teaching gender ideology to kids. That's the extent but it's also really on the nose.

>Hank cries at star wars episode was written by the Velma writer who made the retarded andrew tate episode last season
>Trans chicken episode was made by a rick and morty writer

Is writing just about failing upwards?
>>
>>154707302
Yeah that was lame but on the other hand, Principal Moss.
>>
>>154707405
They recast him?
>>
>>154707404
Velma writer also wrote the scam and first episodes which weren't bad but yeah. Best episides so far are episodes 1, 5 and 6. It feels about the quality of seasons 7-9.
>>
>>154707420
Yeah, sounded like Stephen Root maybe.
>>
So is Nancy pregnant or not?
>>
That Apu shit has ruined western voice acting. For the love of God, fix Kahn.
>>
>>154707338
I think it's fine. It basically sounds like if season 1 Dale got old.
>>
>>154707497
I can agree with that, but the way he pronounces some words and has pauses between them just sounds off.
>>
>>154707500
>Mrs. Donovan mention
I wonder if anyone's made a list of all the callbacks.
>>
>>154707512
>Ladybird
>Picture of the Soups from the original series
>Peggy mentions the episode Bobby cooked Thanksgiving
>>
Peggy's VA is starting to sound old. Her voice is scratchy as hell.
>>
>>154707581
The only one that sounds outright identical is Bill. Everyone else is showing age without trying to.
>>
>Walked out because "Ray Roy"
No. Hank would have convinced Buck to just stay. Is Mike even writing these?
>>
All the black chicks are ugly and kind of annoying. Connie's roommate is the best of them and she's only tolerable.
>>
>>154706144
Last I heard of the revival, Bobby was down bad for some gook who was a massive cunt to everybody. Did he find someone better since then?
>>
I appreciate that they changed up the art style and colors on the flashbacks to match the older seasons.
>>
Just finished binging. I hope for one more season just for Bobby and Connie to marry and to see Nancy's baby but otherwise the revival has run its course imo.
>>
>>154707686
Hank walked out because of Buck making Vickers manager in the snowstorm episode so it's in character. Also Donna looked hot as fuck goddamn.
>>
>>154707759
Bobby being into BTS as a teen doesn't make sense if the show takes place in the current times.
>>
>>154707824
Floating timeline. BTS was big in the late 2010s. Also I fucking laughed at the Jimmy Wichard appearance.
>>
Connie has nice tits now. Damn.
>>
>>154707839
show them
>>
>>154707781
Season 15 was way better than season 14. There's only two episodes I'd consider shitty (the second one and the chicken episode) and yeah I'd like one more season for Bobby and Connie to get married but episode 10 was honestly a perfect finale for the show. Way better than To Sirloin, With Love.
>>
>>154707864
It leaves Nancy's thing in the first episode unexplained though.
>>
The con episode was fucking horrible. A shame since the Caesar one was great.
>>
>>154707923
Yeah but I'm fine with that.

Hank becoming co-owner of Strickland Propane legit made me happy. And feeling proud when he saw Bobby working was a better "The boy's alright" moment than beef grading.
>>
I was expecting the dog to run off and get hit by a car when he let it play in the graveyard.
>>
>>154706144
Not going to watch this, can someone just summarize all the major plot points so I have a general idea of what the season was about?

(Not a hater, I just sort of can't deal with watching a new season of King of the Hill right now.)

Bill and Kahn talking about the bubble bath made me laugh.
>>
>>154708015
Bobby and Connie are official, she gets jealous when a reality cooking show does a fake storyline with Bobby and his female partner but it's quickly resolved and they're ready to move in together.

Boomhauer connects more with his girlfriend's kid. Bill is extra pathetic about women feeling like at this point nobody will want him. The guys fix up his car and give him a push to find someone which seems like setup for next season.

Episode 10 is a flashback to how Hank left Strickland because Buck gave the manager job to Ray Roy. Ray Roy runs it into the ground and the employees beg Hank to come back. Hank, presumably using his nest egg, is now manager and majority owner of Strickland.
>>
>>154708056
Are Luanne and Lucky acknowledged in any way?
>>
Didnt expect to see john deadcorn again. Thought he would have been written off.
>>
>>154708068
Bobby mentions he can live with them if Hank and Bobby go to Saudi Arabia so presumably that's what he did.

Also there's a ton of cameos and appearances this season. Ray Roy, all the old Strickland people, THATHERTON, Jimmy Wichard, Reverend Stroup and Principal Moss all show up.

I finished the entire season. If last season was a 7, this season is a solid 8.

-.5 deduction too much cursing
-.5 character degradation (Bill, Redcorn, Bobby, Peggy, Khan, etc)
-.5 forced character moments (a lot of new characters that pisses me off such as that nerd that stole Bobby’s pass)
-.5 preachy political correct messages (Weed good, my body my choice, transgender chicken)
+.5 old episode references (turkey episode and ray roy)
+.5 expectation subversion (Caesar is a good boy and Peggy is a good teacher

>>
>>154708316
>5 characters listed for character degredation, with room for more with 'etc.'
Sounds dire. Same for the forced PC angles. It's funny people thought this revival would be above it all just because of Bobby having one reaction to Connie's polygamy thing. This show was never going to make it out alive and it was obvious by the end of episode 1 with Hank awkwardly having a heartwarming moment about how "it's nice to be nice" about changing the name of girl scout cookies to be more considerate of Somoans or some shit and it convincing him to stay in Texas

he should've said something like "cult propoganda" or "no thanks, we have a religion." the way he said it made it sound passively like an insult to religion in general, which i wouldn't be surprised at this point with new writers. but i think judge wrote that episode with an old writer? so maybe it was just a cheap joke that sounded off.

I was scared that Khan would go away for good and I hated the idea of Minh sleeping around with other men.

I like bill and khan living together, having them be long term roommates until Khan and Minh rekindle their fire would be great in season 3
>>
I forgot how much I don't like Khan's new VA
>>
>>
Kahn’s VA would be a lot better if he even attempted to do his shrill whining. I feel like it’s not entirely outside of his new VA’s vocal range. He needs to sound way more high strung and anxious and just none of that’s there. I could get over the speaking voice if he just went a little more “Aiiiyaaaaah” during the moments that call for it.

>>

>>154711669
I wonder if they're gonna pull a "They're just roommates" kind of story with Bill and Kahn. The obvious plot thread would be he either gets back with Minh or stays divorced but happier, but having Bill fuck Kahn's mom and Kahn himself would be funny and a way to get back at his wife. Also they've done a few POC and trans representation in these new ones, but not anything else in the spectrum of LGBT, so it's only about time with their agenda.
>>
>>154711802
He just seems unwilling to commit to actually acting as opposed to reading his lines like he's bored and doesn't give a shit.
>>
>>154711922
The funniest option is that giving Bill a confidence boost in the cuddle therapy episode and Kahn's helping him out winds up with Bill getting with Minh.

Kahn might be divorced and voiced by a man with no range, but the writers pulled no stops when writing his character. Really made me swallow the boring new VA.
Overall, great season.
>>
>>154711957
That would be devilish and Bill would definitely be that kind of guy considering his advances towards Peggy while she's still married to Hank of all people.
>>
>>
>>154711940
He's a correspondent on the daily show and he just sounds like that. He's not like bored or disinterested or anything, that is geniunely ehat he sounds like when he's excited it's just that his accent isnsonthick it makes everything sound stiff. 90% of his comedic appeal is that he looks funny in additon to sounding funny. One doesn't really work without the other which makes him a bad fit for voice acting in general.
>>
Is it weird that I can picture Hank liking soccer, a shitty little dog, or growing roses no problem but draw the line with him liking a science fiction movie?

It just feels so weird for him, even if the shows trying to justify it like “oh they’re like soldiers” it feels like it’s too much of a step away from something he’d grow to like.
>>
They really nailed Joseph in this. He such a lovable mess of a human that could have only come from Dale. Not genetically of course.

His new va sounds perfect too. Bet half of you didn't realize Joseph got a new va too.
>>
>>154712299
Hank has always shown to be open to new things as long it has aspects of what he resonates with or would help himself. Just imagine the sci-fi movie but with people from the Alamo similar to when he cried at the drama film because it reminded him of his truck dying or when he meticulously watched porn to clear his name. It was more to help and spend time with Bobby anyways.

I don't think it reaches the golden age but I'd put it around season 7/8 quality. Propane Recall though is definitely one of the best episodes of the series just in terms of feeling like a proper payoff and honoring of it. Doing the flashback in the visual style of the pre-digital seasons was the kicker. It felt like they really went all out on it.
>>
>>154711837
>Llama Sanglug's mirror
That one doesn't make sense. He didn't keep the mirror, him "choosing" an object was just selecting a choice, they didn't give him the sacred artifact right? And he didn't pick it up. He just pointed at Connie through it.

I read some early reviews and they said there were some forced callbacks that don't make sense. I guess that's one of them.
>>
>>154712730
Bill finally has someone "sorta" in his situation that he's experienced with but also trying to work his way out. They're potentially good for each other
>>
So what are some dangling plot threads now that a lot of the time skip stuff has been addressed? The only ones that I can think of are.
- Lucky, Luanne, Gracie
- Divorce plotline
- Bobby & Connie's breakup/makeup arcs
- Redcorn's other family that never got mentioned ever after that episode
- Why Nancy was still getting headache massages after the episode where to dropped Redcorn and decided to wear a wig instead
- Hank's cheating mom
- The Thatherton rise to power since Ray Roy ruined Stickland Propane
- Bill trying to find another woman and not fucking it up this time
- Chane's character development arc
- The new black neighbor that was shoehorned in but is now absent along with Bill's black barber buddies
>>
>>154712810

Bill typically doesn't want to see his friends or others turn into the same depressed loser he is so he goes out of his way to boost them or set them straight when he does. The Valentine's episode where he drags down Bobby is a giant aberration in that regard.

They might just be thinking they're funny and heavily insinuating it just to reveal it's all not true at the end. It seemed more like they'd started seeing each other again but with the marriage counseling episode it's well and truly over for good since Nancy pushes John Redcor away and he leaves crying. I would guess that once Nancy hit menopause or around then she went back to Redcorn to try and revitalize the spark in her life. It's implied that Minh hitting menopause is what changed things with her and Kahn and led to their divorce too.

Man all the characters just went to shit. Why did we need this?
>>
>Chuck Mangione song playing in the 3rd episode

>>
>>154714078
It feels like the point is more that without the Hills around, everything went to hell and with them back things are slowly getting better. Kahn and Minh might be divorced but Kahn moving in with Bill seems to have been beneficial to both of them and by the end of the season the other guys are encouraging Bill to pick himself up and try and find a woman instead of being a sad sack. Nancy went back to Redcorn but left him for good while Dale is just always going to be Dale. Boomhauer got into a relationship with a single mom but now seems to be moving into playing a real paternal role to her son. Minh is really the only character who comes off worse and it's less her status and more that whatever positive traits she possessed seem to have vanished, she's an absolutely rotten bitch now.

I feel like they made Peggy worse too since they took the slightly laxed streaming rules route and jumped at the chance for her to cuss and be even more annoying like it's funny.

Minh getting worse is a shame since one of the last things I remember about the OG run was her becoming friends with Dale and his gunclub buddies. If they wanted to act like the final seasons were perfect to build off of why did they remove the one that gave Minh some cute development with the rednecks?
>>
>>154714399
I don’t know, I’m also confused by the divorce overall. They only time Khan and Minh weren’t great together was when Khan lost his job. Other than that they always seemed to be a great couple.

The Velma writer did episode 4 this season and it was fine (she did the Andrew Tate episode last season though). The worst episode was the scam one which felt like a bad late season episode and that was written by a Jimmy Kimmel writer. The Rick and Morty writer did the Luke Jr. episode which was just kind of boring aside from the eyerolling gender jokes.

They renewed this shit for like 3 more seasons already. They're going to pull something like that for attention eventually. I just hope they don't make jokes at their expense about being bad/wacky dumb parents. Luanne was dragged back into the dirt by Lucky the least they can do is just keep their mouths shut instead of letting anyone do anything else with them when they can't even write the main characters compellingly most of the time.

I can see it being a combo of that and the strickland thing. Maybe even the strickland event happened around the time Ladybird passed and that was the one two punch that made Hank finally go "fuck all of this."

I swear there's a mandate in revivals to have women lack accountability and divorce their husbands. When Gumball came back there was an episode dedicated to shitting on Nicole's father for being upset that he was left for the mom's yoga instructor. >>
>>154716746
Finding out that Aramco was a real thing and they literally showed their stocks in an episode and praising them was horrid. Can we drop the aramco stuff going forward? It was already a weird ass excuse to have a "coming back after many years" gimmick with Hank in Saudi Arabia but no more glazing aramco and making it a consistent part of the series.
>>
>>154716746
Didn't buck constantly waste the money on partying, gambling, and hookers?
Hank could easily use that disposable income and just expand if not make a second store.
>>
>>154707219
Really? That sounds lame considering he bought crack in the past.
>>
>>154715934
I related way too much to that, I lost my dog June 2 years ago, my wife got us a new one too soon. I told her I wasn’t ready and didn’t want one. The new dog had terrible separation anxiety and I’ll admit I wasn’t friendly with her at first but after the third month I stopped being a grump. In my defense I was very firm about not wanting another dog yet.
>>
>>154716789
Context is key, when Hank bought crack he had no idea it was crack, With the weed though he got that for Peggy and knew exactly what it was.
>>
>>154716574
I still don't think Boomhauer was ever actually a Ranger, it was just something he used to make himself seem interesting in order to bed women. Episodes like the one where he gets committed to the asylum don't really work if he is and goes against his other statements of getting money from workman's comp and his parents' lotto winnings. I think the whole thing is that he's just kind of a mooch who does the odd handyman job here and there.
>>
Meh season but the finale was genuinely great. Definitely seems like they were prepared for it to be the new finale.
>>
>>154707686
The whole point of the episode was that everyone had to nut up eventually and accept changes. Hank embracing being an assistant manager for years despite effectively running the business was a fun enough gag, but eventually something had to change and Buck's always been a piece of shit. If the show didn't try and branch out a little it'd just be every other zombie adult sitcom.
Judge was shaking up a lot of status quos in the end of the original run, I think this is par for the course of where things were going. If anything I don't think Judge would've done more if he didn't feel like he couldn't shake things up a little. And I get the irony in saying it because he basically ends up in the same place, but he's at least acknowledging he owns the place now.
It's a nice full circle moment. Hank's realized he outgrew Buck, propane is his passion, he gets to return to his old job on his own terms

They really should've had the sci-fi movie feel western-esque or, exactly, like the Alamo, and it would've fit the classic episode profile of Hank finding something that resonates with him in something unexpected. He embraced it too quickly and it didn't feel organic.

I think Judge has a fascination with it because so much of KOTH revolves around the contrast of Hank being very meat and potatoes with traditional expectations and the realities of modern life. So an artificial recreation of classical Americana created by an Saudi oil company in the middle of the desert is something I think Judge plays with. Plus it's not something uncommon for Texans in the fuel industry to have experienced. Hank at least was uncomfortable with the cultural differences like his boss offering him new wives.
>>
>>154717025
I don't think any modern writer would have Hank be polite about sexism and objectification.

That episode was written by Norm Hiscock who's been a writer and producer on the show since season 2 (and was the head writer of Kids in the Hall before that). Few people are going to know the characters better than him. His quitting over the Ray Roy stuff is similar to his walking out in Snow Job after Buck promoted Vickers to manager over him. In that episode the only thing that stopped him from quitting was the messages on his answering machine but he always wanted that job and him getting passed over in favor of Buck's worthless son being the last straw to finally get him over his willful blindness of how Buck uses him is perfectly believable.

First ep confirms Chan was fucking khan jr, poor bobby
>>
>>154708417
Original Hank would have called her a retard not because considerate or inconsiderate, but because her entire premise was wrong. The cookies are still called Samoans in most markets, the cookie was named Samoan because it contained coconut from Samoa, it was meant to evoke an island feel, it isn't offensive, the entire premise she headcanonned over the name change was just some shit she made up to justify it.

New hank realizes arguing with women is pointless, so he just lets her believe it. He doesn't feel the need to correct people even if they're wrong anymore, he's too old to argue.

>Original Hank would have called her a retard
His normal response about dumb stuff like this at the very least was scoffing and saying "good lord" and being tired of it. But yes if the new revival actually wanted to write the characters from their original angle with some oomph, they would've uesd the Somoa cookies as a jumping point for Hank to say it's "asinine" and not necessary and I guess like you said, if it's still unchanged in many markets and that the Somoans wouldn't give a shit.

But that's not what this revamped King of the Hill is like. OG Koth would've called out the manosphere thing as bastardizing true traditional values, and it would've quickly veered into a jumping point as him trying out various traditional passtimes with GH. But instead we got "men are the real problems, women are amazing, stop making misogynistic jokes and pay child support and stop being a dumb hobbyist, my mother was amazing and did not cause me problems 9/10 times she appeared she actually helped me all the time and did not dissassociate with her knick knacks while i was forced to deal with my father destroying our home."

Fuck I hate this revival. We needed a real KoTH in this day and age but they just brought the OG back and made it pansy. The closest to something authentic was "dude you're playing 2 race cards?!" in the appropriation episode but even that was just a short scene. It also had bobby saying "well dressing up as speedy gonzolas is kinda racist..."
>>
>>154716788
Yeah, but it never affected people’s pay or Strickland service
>>
>>154717447
All that extra money could have went into expanding that is what I'm talking about.
Hank will probably be Stricklands age and buy out the entire competition in Arlen only to just keep selling at a reasonable price that is still probably lower than Meglomart
>>
>>154717442
Thinking about it, I feel like the Somoa cookies ending should've went in the opposite direction. Hank should've realized shit's gotten fucked and stupid and chose to stay in Texas to try and help everyone find their sense in a changed world. Like, there could've been something where he bucks up and calls it asinine, and then realizes he needs to stay to help characters like Bill get back on their feet and such. Idk, something like that.

I know this is a very broad point but I'm not going to bother deeply thinking on something that can't be changed and they're never gonna recapture.

>>
>>154717442
>It also had bobby saying "well dressing up as speedy gonzolas is kinda racist..."
You know who doesn't give a shit about that? Mexicans. The one time WB tried cancelling Speedy Gonzolas in order to be more culturally sensitive, you know who rioted in the street until it was brought back? Mexicans. Mexicans love Speedy Gonzolas and Tweety Bird.

There's nothing more retarded than deciding what's offensive for a group for them, and ignoring their feelings when they tell you it wasn't offensive because it doesn't fit your narrative, so you decide they're just too deep in the cultural offensiveness to accurately realize how offensive it is for them yet so you have to decide its racist for them.
>>
>>154717521
That's clearly not the story the writers want to make though; they want to make a story where Hank is more relaxed and liberal, and he realizes all these things he got angry about before were actually correct all along and really he was the one wrong. Actually soccer was good all along, actually Bobby was right about everything, also he spent the last 20 years in the middle east and gave up on Texas. They basically brought Hank back to push him in the opposite direction for obvious reasons.

They're going to bitch about anything that doesn't conform 100% to at a minimum George W. Bush era conservatism. They bitch about the "tranny chicken" yet ignore episodes like Peggy's tranny friend or Dale's dad being a star at the GAAAAAAAAAAY rodeo. There were plenty of instances in the show where Hank had his beliefs challenged and was willing to compromise such as the co-op episode. Hank would only be the type of character to throw a fit over Samoa cookies if it was an incredibly OOC episode like the Jordan Bronson one.
>>

It's fucking Chane saying it. He's the exact douche who'd watch manosphere streams, Aiden Ross podcasts and get into crypto grifts. He's always been a douche.
>>
>>154718388
At this point i'm wondering if they're just bitter because of the message existing at all, or that Hank, a character well liked and known to not be a douche psychopath like them adheres to these messages. They should already know he's not like them or caricature conservatives in any way.
>>
>>154718388
>ignore episodes like Peggy's tranny friend or Dale's dad being a star at the GAAAAAAAAAAY rodeo
These were actually handled well
>They let Peggy be upset that her friend thought she was trans, because of how it reflected on her personal image. She literally shut herself indoors. Also Hank was allowed to not even really parse the transgenderism
>They let the joke last a good bit about Dale seeming to hate his father being gay just to lead up to "I'm friends with Redcorn and he's gay lol". There was gay humor throughout and Hank was obviously trying to sidestep all of it.

It looks like the shitposters have found the thread and want to derail it with arguments.

It wasn't a tranny and he didn't think Peggy was a tranny. Then again, trannies are basically just crossdressers who don't want to admit it.

>Lucky, Luanne, Gracie
If they ever address it will most likely be some family photo that reveals they moved to Montana to live with Peggy’s brothers. I don’t see them actually getting new VAs for Luanne or Lucky. Though having Gracie come visit or live there for the summer would cool.
>Divorce plotline
Will probably wrap that up in a season or two
>Bobby & Connie's breakup/makeup arcs
I mean if they stay together then it would just be them doing stuff together until he proposes, and if he doesn’t then it would probably be more GF of the week stuff until they come up with a character who he can be with long term
>Redcorn's other family that never got mentioned ever after that episode
Better forgotten tbf. It always felt forced like they wanted to give him an end state after Nancy and him ended things. But it can be assumed he fucked it up.
>Why Nancy was still getting headache massages after the episode where to dropped Redcorn and decided to wear a wig instead
The smart thing to have it be that she started getting headaches after she lost her hair so Redcorn is actually doing his job and not screwing her.
>Hank's cheating mom
Most likely dead, but I am sure they will make mention of her at some point.
>The Thatherton rise to power since Ray Roy ruined Stickland Propane
Sounds like it can be an arc in of itself. Hank is manager, he can bring in some people and run things while going head to head with Thatherton. Maybe even bring in someone who can be like him when he was younger.
>Bill trying to find another woman and not fucking it up this time
That’s all up to the writers. Honestly it would be cool if they revealed that Bill knocked up one of the women at the estate and has had a secret kid who ran away from home to find him. But they will probably just do more sad Bill fucking it up because he can’t help but sabotage himself.
>Chane's character development arc
Could go any way.

This show looks like shit

Just looked it up, we're going to be getting a season 16 and 17, each 10 episodes. I liked this season more than the last, but I think there's a genuine question over just how many more episodes they can make and what could happen if more of the cast dies
>>
>>154718762
Unless they make a finale where Hank get's the top most grave at his graveyard, thus becoming the literal king of the hill, it will never end.
>>

Have no fears we've got stories for years like

Scam episode was a let down
Instead of it being
>Hank learns REAL methods to avoid being scammed
>Which can actually be a good lesson for the show
>And I think any shows should do this honestly because scams are so common now
>Instead we got Dale is crazy and Hank goes crazy too
It wasn't the worst but it wasnt good
>>

You did real a method for avoiding scams:

If they ask for money, hang up.
>>
>>154719411
The most ridiculous thing part is the idea that Hank's favorite movie would be anything other than a John Wayne film or Patton. Maybe Rudy but he might be against it being about Notre Dame.
>>
>>154708316
>That nerd that stole Bobby's pass

OH MY GOD YES. I was actually angry about that. Sure Hank was an asshole for dismissing con culture, but he wasnt going to get it. Thats fine.

But that motherfucker still STOLE Bobbys $300 pass. He was wearing it. Sure Hank leaves but Bobby should have demanded it back then and there. Especially because the man's kids and wife were there or threatened to call the cops.

Those passes have id numbers and are tied to a purchase, bobby would have the receipt showing it was his.

I was mad that Hank had to go home, learn a lesson and return the next day to get it back.

The episode would have been stronger to show how much effort and craftsmanship can go into some of the more elaborate cosplays, some people are professional welders and engineers and they build truly amazing costumes and can sink hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars. At least Hanl could respect and appreciate that.

So him doing the axe would have been a moment better suited to seeing it and someone explaining their woodworking and metalwork to make it showing that they have a similar skillset to Hank and while he might not get cosplaying he has the skill set to make cool stuff too.

Maybe if the episode had him help make Bobby a costume and it was kind of crappy but he sees how well made others are and he puts in the time to make one good and accurate would have served better than a stolen pass.
>>
>>154719437
I don't think they ever said "favorite" just that it's one of them.

Mihn was such a bitch in this season.
Sure she was bitchy, but mostly to Peggy who got her back often enough that you could see they were friendly rivals
But her constantly dumping on Bobby
And then stealing the glasses from his restaurant
Man that was fucking weird
Its like they needed someone to be hated this season and Mihn got it the most
>>
>>154719501
It's almost like she just went through a painful and ugly divorce with someone she holds a huge amount of resentment towards but clearly still loves.
>>
>>154719504
>no see the woman being a bitch is understandable because she gleefully divorced and kicked out her husband and mocks him so it makes sense she'll mock everyone else unrelated to her divorce as well
stop giving female characters a free pass to be turbo cunts. there's no reason she couldn't be better with some other characters. fucking kahn of all people was rejected by his wife, kicked out of his own home, and had to move in with the lowest of the low, and he's trying to be a genuine person despite it all
>>
>>154719516

I never went out of my way to watch king of the hill, but if it was on and i was baked or too tired to change the channel i would catch an ep.
I'm not going out of my way to watch it.
And after I heard about the quite honestly unnecessary and middle aged foid from the coasts and streaming network approved changes I knew it was going to be shit.
And why does bobby hill STILL sounding like and look like the kid version just stretched...he just seems like a 50 year old butch lesbian.
And after that manosphere ep and good hank being somehow 13 or so...for no reason other then to have that one particular episode...I just knew it was going to be absolute shit.

And it is.
It's shit.

>>154719451
Anon, the writers are cowards and cynical assholes who equate hanks inability to understand things as dismissal and feeling of superiority rather then him not getting it and being uncomfortable with new things.
He would have known it was important to his son and that it cost 300 dollars and ihe would have got in that guys face instantly.

And you are right. He would have noticed some unbelievably well designed prop or costume and been enamored with it and found out the guy/gal who made it was a craftsman...person and talked about it.
>>

And they were the most stable loving and connected couple in the show. But apparently Nancy and Dale the cuck are more stable and John Redcorn is back fucking Nancy and that's perfectly okay right?

Why do they always have to do two sides of EVERY issue?
Episode 04 spoiler
Im at the food truck/convention episode and the writing was terrible. I'm pretty sure in no convention ever would stealing a pass be tolerated and Hank ''bullying'' everyone when confronting the guy's family with good arguments just so that Bobby could kick him out was so cliché. Didn't Bob's Burger do the exact same episode with ponies?

And now Hank has to watch a whole alien TV show just to understand what ''the other side'' has been gone through? Nobody would ever do that. And now he is an even bitter nerd and being ''one of them''.

Am I the only one that was a tad frustrated with that cookie cutter plot?

I just watched episode 1. Did they backtrack on Nancy being faithful to Dale? They did two "John Redcorn fucks nancy" jokes in the episode

I fucking hope not. Nancy redoing her vows and coming to love Dale was one of the continutiy changes from the original show that pretty much EVERYONE loved.

No one was like "uh dale being an ignorant cuckhold is TOO funny to not bring back!"

>>
>>154721377
I haven't finished the season so i could be wrong but it's never out right confirmed but is implied and I'm guessing that's the joke. Every time someone tries to clarify the situation they're always interrupted.

It's a moot point since it seems whatever relationship Nancy John Redcorn had is really over because they seem to have written John Redcorn off because of Johnathan Joss's death. Doesn't look like they're recasting him either.

My guess it was gonna be a running gag throughout the new seasons just to fuck with people but then Johnathan Joss died and they had to cut the gag and his character out.
>>
>>154720368
It feels like an overcorrection to the older episodes about Hank ripping in nerds in the original show.the old show generally just went with all nerds being virgin losers, and that doesn’t really work in modern times that nerds at cons often do have families and decent jobs these days. But it’s bizarre because the guy straight up stole from Hank and somehow his family is at the convention too? Did he swindle their tickets too? He seemed like he was planning to with Hank
>>
>>154720368
Depends on how they check the badges, most of the people on door duty wouldn't notice. But once you told security they should do something. The fact that it would be a different badge since Bobby is a vendor and not a guest is a big deal for a con. Hank comes off as too much of a jerk when for the revival seasons, Hank usually comes off as a bit more mellow than in earlier seasons I think.
>>
>>154721470
I think they had their own passes, Hank and Bobby's was a special limited tier
>>
So have you fags "nutted up" or are you still relying on mommy and daddy?
>>
>>154721456
I really think we could see at least them getting engaged in the batch of 20 episodes. The end of this season felt like a nice ending point, so I think the writers will choose another major character milestone to end the next set on.

I'm glad Hank kept Ceasar. He's a good boy and eager to please. I love his goofy toothless smile.
>>
>>154723229
Absolutely. Well, either that or he was in that state of numbness at the funeral before breaking down hard in the privacy of his garage
>>
>>154723236
Yeah, his scenes are hard to get through. To be fair to Toby Huss it sounds like he's trying to match Johnny Hardwick's voice and line delivery for the new seasons rather than Dale's voice from the original show to make the switch less noticeable. Unfortunately Johnny Hardwick couldn't do the original Dale voice anymore himself. Guess age and whatnot caught up to him

There's no excuses for Kahn though. That whole situation was a shit show that shouldn't have happened.
>>
>>154723229
Definitely. Ladybird was far kinder and more helpful to him than Cotton ever was. The world probably became a kinder place after Cotton died.
>>
Joseph believing he's white and being a crazy person like Dale was fun last season, any good moments with him for this one?
>>
on a positive note, i noticed that the plots seem to actually have direction this time, the stories have actual conclusions, and the original AB plot stuctures have returned which elevates this season above the previous one.
>>
>>154723520
I've been enjoying that a lot myself. They've really adapted to what people generally want from a show on a streaming platform and really have done a good job balancing episode plots with character growth. Which is kind of surprising since most other shows never find that balance
>>
>>154723504
There's an episode where he and Bobby go down to Mexico and Joseph messes up the whole thing which I thought was funny.

It's partly because of Ladybird's presence that Bobby was even born.

the trans-chicken episode was kind of muddled, like, was the moral of the story that you should respect the will of parents, or that being overbearing and too restrictive is bad, they kind of put forth both conclusions simultaneously in the final act hastily.

the gag with the trans chicken immediately being out performed by biological roosters in the competition kind of runs contrary to the notion that the episode had a pro-trans bend.

Some of these episodes feel like they could have been written in earlier seasons, i think season 14 missed the mark almost to an offensive degree, maybe due to new writers or the old writers being rusty, it happened with futurama. However, season 15 feels like its getting back on track
>>

I agree that it was clunky. But I did like how Boomhaur handled the end of it even if it was stilted. Him bringing money to bribe the principal was pretty funny too I thought. The anti-trans dad was just irritating.

>>
>>154712299
>but draw the line with him liking a science fiction movie?
he did it for Bobby, everything was for Bobby
He thought Bobby liked sci-fi shit, which is why he got the food truck spot at the sci-fi convention. But at the end of the episode after Hank did all his research to help Bobby sell more food, Bobby had no idea what Hank was talking about and called him a nerd. It's just showing that Hank is willing to change and do anything for his son, even if it means stepping outside of his comfort zone.
>>
>>154723652
>the gag with the trans chicken immediately being out performed by biological roosters in the competition kind of runs contrary to the notion that the episode had a pro-trans bend.
A favorable interpretation is that the episode is saying the scare over trans athletes is an overreaction and that they typically don't perform better than cis athletes.
>>
I thought it was good, but damn, the episode where Hank gets phished feels like it could have been better, so much wasted potential with shit that seems to go nowhere.

>>154726706

>>
>>154726219
Yeah it's a bit of soft retcon but they didn't it so the shows timeline makes a bit more sense. KOTH originally operated on Simpsons logic where no one ever ages despite having hundreds of episodes. So if they stuck to the their original ages and also stuck to the fact that the show ended when Bobby was 13 that would mean every single event in the original show happened in about a year give or take a few months. Which would be a stretch. By retconning Bobby and Connie's ages to them being 10 when they met that means that the events of the original KOTH now took place over 2-3 years which feels a bit more logical.
>>
im convinced these revivals like koth and futurama are just daycare for the boomer writers to hang out and write fanfiction
