But of course Tolkien chose to make him an angel, who strengthened the theme greatly and was a good decision, as well as one of great personal important to Tolkien. Jax being trans is the same. Jax could have been a femboy, or gay, or ftm, or insecure about all sorts of things and the themes of pushing away others to hide your true self would be intact. But the author chose Jax to be trans, just like Tolkien chose Gandalf to be an angel. It didn't have to be that way to maintain the main themes but it was. That is the point I'm making. So when people say the story is ruined because Jax is trans, they are missing the point.

Sometimes Zooble is left to just walk away of her own accord (and there's no indication anyone else can't do the same but just chooses not to); sometimes Caine tries to hunt down Zooble while she tries to hide (and everyone else could also try hiding if they wanted to, but mostly doesn't bother); sometimes everyone is forcefully sent on the adventure and Zooble is no exception.

This show didn't really give out the emotional payoff i was hoping for by the time it's ends came around. Jax's final scene kind of did but his death is whole another issue. I just felt this show was building up to something much more impactful. Even up until episode 8 i was still fully invested and felt something really incredible would happen in the finale. I guess i just became too obsessed and hopeful. Episode 9 wasn't bad, but it still was a bit disappointing.Thank you for reading my blog post.
