>>154740969Thanks for the dump. My initial impressions: I feel better about this issue than the previous one if only because it confirmed what a lot of us probably were thinking. There's no way everything would neatly wrap up in five issues. Like there's no way they could've had Kaito wielding grass cutter in a satisfactory way here so having him return it for now feels more appropriate. I only hope having a sequel greenlit means the creative team can pace things better. Also gotta shout out the death bubble here >>154740765. An homage to the original wouldn't be complete without it.

Also realised with this one that this whole thing feels paced intentionally like a 1980s horror movie, with Jei as the actual Jason. It'd probably work pretty well as an actual animated flick therefore. Still overall disappointed it's a lot more memberberries-y than I wanted, and the art still suffers from the layouts not being as good as Sakai's, but overall, whole thing's worth a read.

I don't like the art. It's a bit too furry. and kind of messy.I don't like 80s Yukichi. I think I might like him less than feudal japan Yukichi.Overall the plot was kind of a mess and it being a sequel bait just makes it all the more wasteful.I didn't like it.

For example, last issue Kaito was releasing Tomoe's leg from the rubble by sacrificing the (fake) Grasscutter and in this one he's smashing the spear and none of those moments are shown clearly and directly.Kaito '84 (the whole mini): 7/10, it's okay.If it was Sakai's story, it'd be among his weaker ones.I still want a sequel.
