I will explain for the dumbassesAbstraction is corruption of the mind files that makes up the scanned humans in the circus. This can happen externally, such as when Caine edits their minds too much (Scratch) or internally when someone has enough of a psychological breakdown (Kaufmo) or from wanting to die enough (Jax). During this process there is a period of time when you can connect to someone abstracting (Kinger and Pomni did this) and interact with their mind files in ways unlike the normal way that is presented in the digital circus, but then their individuality fully leaves after a while as the corruption takes hold.
