Here's an idea for this, inspired from an episode of Ouran Highschool Host Club. Lincoln and the Blouds spend time in some bed and breakfast that looks relaxing, Lincoln and his older sisters perchance run into his mom from Lynn's previous marriage. At first it is tense but Lincoln calms the situation, they decide to have a talk but Bluna just mouths them off dismissing her, and dissing her, she is obviously jealous.

Most guys don't like dating women who already have kids, it's a stereotype but a true one. Even if Lynn Sr didn't have a problem with that there's a difference between a woman having kid or two versus having 9. People start making a whole bunch of assumptions hearing that and none of them good

Lynn Sr loves kids and always wanted more so he was happy to hear BRita had kids already. He was shocked at the number of them at first but he was determined to make them a real family for BLily and Lincoln's sake and because he really loved BRita.

It's not that he doesn't care about Lincoln, he actually loves him a lot and is regretful of the fact that he has to spend so much time alone because of how busy he is. Part of the reason he's looking for a wife is so he will have someone to help him with Lincoln and so Lincoln will have a real family to depend on when he's not around.
