Some stuff I noticed in the trailer.That’s clearly Hal with John in what appears to be the Manhunters’ homeworld in the present day storyline, as evidenced by John’s clothes and him having the ring, so Hal’s death in episode 1 will clearly be a fakeout.
That’s John’s mother with baby John in her arms encountering a Manhunter, and I have no idea what they are cooking with that.

John’s insistence that “the ring has always been his” is making me think they’re adapting the comic where it’s revealed Guy Gardner was the first pick to be GL, and Hal only got the ring because it was an emergency and he was closer, but swapping Guy for John’s father. So John Sr. was supposed to be the GL and Hal “stole” that from him.

Laura Linney is rumored to be playing Hal’s ex-wife Carol Ferris, but the prison setting, weird HR lady vibes and insistence on calling people by their full name makes me think she’s actually one of the Manhunters, and they’re the ones who abduct John.
