>A clip of Season 3 was shown with the Brotherhood of Mutants

>Surge will appear and is apart of the Brotherhood of Mutants

>They'll be another Wolverine centric episode in Season 3

>Season 3 is fully completed and is ready to release on Disney+ in 2027

>Season 4 is in development and will release in 2028

Here's the Season 3 SDCC clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vaNMudqhnLo

Why are they even pretending that this is a continuation of TAS? It's just bad X-Men fanfiction now.
>>
>>154787946
>90s X-men
>Except for the morrison costumes
>And Surge
Look I don't want to complain about Surge because I like her but really?
>>
>>154789673
Did Surge ever join those evil teams? It feels really weird to see her show up there, specially when her introduction in the comics was really good.
>>
>>154787946
>season 3
I had no idea there was a season one, I thought it was coming soon or something, not gonna watch it tho, but this surprises me.
>>
>>154789673
We've seen Dust, Omega kid, and a few of the other 2000s character sprinkled in already.
>>
>>154789696
No. but neither did Domino and she was part of the brohood in WaTX. Cartoons will often change up the roster. That's not really what annoys me.
>>
>>154789673
I mean, its primarily 2000s x-men so far.
>>
>>154787946
Ten gets you twenty Surge is reduced to a Mystique disguise given that a famous X-Men story once had her disguise herself with tech as an electricity themed mutant.

Also, how long until we get Destiny? Though part of me wants her to show up in bed with Azreal and go the route Mystique only married a German Baron and had Nightcrawler because Destiny left her for a man.
>>
>>154787946
Hopefully Surge breaks good and we finally get a Surge action figure.
>>
>>154787946
The series keeps using adaptations of early 2000's X-Men comics. These were some of the worse X-Men stories ever told.
>>
The episode where the danger room gains sentience and becomes a humanoid robot named Danger is straight from the dog shit early 2000's comics.
This show was made by people who dont know jack shit about x-men.
Danger repels Cyclops beams back at him and he gets smoked by them (something he should be immune to). This show is such ass its unbelievable. The only people who are applauding it are the people who dont remember the complete and utter frustration entering into the 2000's x-men comics and hating everything they did.
The level of gaslighting and fake fans pretending it was good back then is fucking exhausting or paid bots. Not entirely sure.
>>
>>154787946
How much you wanna be it will be Graydon Creed winning the presidency in 2000 plus William Stryker gets a position in his administration and they adapt God Loves, Man Kills.
>>
>>154787946
Why is this season doing Apocalypse again? Did they not beat him enough in the original? In fact why is it yet another complicated time travel plot at all?
>>
>>154789882
I'm aware. That's my problem.
>>
>>154790929
I don't care at least Danger was hot as fuck
>>
>>154787946
The Brotherhood is based, I wouldnt mind an adaptation that uses an amalgamation of Magneto's and Mystique's brotherhood from the comics. And potentially Juggernaut and Sabretooth from Toad's brotherhood.
>Blob
Based
>Pyro
Based
>Avalanche
Based
>Toad
Based
>Surge
Stupid inclusion some random OC from 2004 that ultimately contributed to the character bloat in x-men comics and lead into the M Day story to remove all the bulk and soft reset the character bulk. The amount of dog shit they put in this show is unreal.
Woulda been nicer to see Destiny or Sauron.
There's actually a lengthy list of completely forgettable Brotherhood members that woulda been better than this dog shit.
Thornn, Masque, Phantazia, Burner, Lifter, Peeper, Shocker, Slither, Astra, Vanisher, Alpha the Ultimate Mutant, Lorelei, Unus, Mastermind.
The most glaring omissions are obviously Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Which for 50+ years of continuity were Magnetos kids. But the early 2000's dog shit changed that, and made Polaris his kid. So we're probably not getting them in the brotherhood instead some shit ,2000 retcon versions. Fuck rename the show X-Men '04 for fuck sake.

Youre a weird coomer, but even if thats what you care about, the 90's had definitively peak babe designs. That obviously wont see the light of day because the shows more focused on 2005 than 1997.
>>
>>154789673
They just used the 97 to trick people into tuning in. They tried quickly to move on from the 90s in the first season
>>
>>154791229
Gambit's outfit without the trench coat is just odd as fuck
>>
>>154791161
The peak brotherhood team would be a combination of Magneto's 1960's team, Mystique's 1980's team, and Toad's 1990's team.
>Magneto
>Mystique
>Destiny
>Pyro
>Avalanche
>Blob
>Toad
>Juggernaut
>Sabretooth
>Quicksilver
>Scarlet Witch
That amalgamation would basically be the optimal roster, and would make for an amazing adaptation.

As a side note, just since we're on the topic. Magneto's 1970's Brotherhood was absolute dog shit. Thats why I excluded it entirely. There's some other former members they could dive into like Mastermind but he's a better fit with Hellfire and Sauron is a better fit with Sinister or the Savage Land.

If they really really really wanted to get creative with some more obscure brotherhood characters they could have used the mid 90's version of brotherhood. They coulda used Dark Beast's brotherhood members like Random. That woulda been fucking cool.
>>
>>154791458
Could you really trust Sabertooth?
>>
>>154787946
Hey wait a minute thats freedom force
>>
>>154791159
Hope they'll do more with her, because that neutered adaption of her Astonishing arc was pretty pointless.
>>
>>154791537
Sabretooth and Juggernaut alliance to the brotherhood would basically be something like the enemies of my enemies friends are my friends.
Teaming with Magneto would be an ends to justify a means. "I want to kill Wolverine, but he always surrounds himself with his powerful mutant buddies the X-Men, so I need to join this team to achieve my own goal. Same for Juggernaut but with Xavier instead of Wolverine.
>>
>>154789673
They have fucking Schism era characters in the show. Again it's not a TAS continuation at this point it's just some redditors X-Men fanfic.
>>
>>154789696
No, Surge is basically the definition of the jerk with a heart of gold type and is pretty morally good in a way a lot of other characters aren't. Her joining a villain team would be horrifically OOC.
>>
>>154791768
Looks more like brotherhood, why would freedom force fight sentinels.
Freedom forced was a government team that enforced the mutant registration act.
Also toad wasnt on freedom force, though I know that doesnt matter with adaptions as they make their own creative decisions all the time.
X-Factor will always be the better government team. They even began compelling villains like sabretooth and mystique to join in the 90s by using shock collars or threats of jail. If your into suicide squad/ thunderbolt type groups I think X factor can fill those voids.
>>
>>154790929
It's made by people whose main exposure to the X-Men is the 2000s and early 2010s stuff which would be fine if this was a show based on that era and not a show based on the '90s era that also adapted earlier stories. Unlike a lot of current /co/ I like 2000s Morrison and pre-Schism X-Men but I don't want to see it in a show that's supposed to be a '90s nostalgia thing.

The cut off for including anything should have been Eve of Destruction. Anything that came after that in the comics should be a no go. If you wanted to adapt 2000s X-Men just do a WatXM revival instead.
>>
>>154791984
I dislike morrison's run, but i like plenty of the other stuff.

And yeah, id rather get an original show if we're going to do 00s stuff, or a wataxm sequel.
>>
>so called 90s show
>it isn't actually the 90s
Tale as old as the 90s
>>
>>154791161
>The most glaring omissions are obviously Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Which for 50+ years of continuity were Magnetos kids. But the early 2000's dog shit changed that, and made Polaris his kid. So we're probably not getting them in the brotherhood
They weren't villains in their few appearances in the actual 90s cartoon, why the hell would you want them turned into villains and put on a Brotherhood lineup? Use actual villains instead of turning Wanda and Pietro into villains for a cartoon and acting like their first five comic appearances are all that matters.
>>
>>154792078
Surge isnt a villain either, but yeah, wanda and pietro are good guys, and 97 implies they're on the avengers already
>>
>>154791984
No offense.
But the 2000's marked a massive decline in x-men comic sales in comparison to the 90's. Due to the quality and just crap stories and retcons.
Then the 2010s was like the era marvel wanted the xmen to be shit so fox would stop making movies so the license would revert back to marvel studios.
Theres literally zero reason to use anything from 2000 up until about Hickman. Granted people hate Krakoa, but its when marvel started putting money back into x comics.
>>
>>154789550
I mean, TAS was all but tied up. There was no reason to go back to it short of exploiting nostalgia.
>>
>>154792078
Maybe because theyre Magnetos kids and were members of the original brotherhood.
And this is an xmen continity not an avengers one.
Hurrdurr
>>
>>154789550
TAS was already bad X-men fanfiction.
>>
>>154792117
2000-2018 was the dark age of x comics.
It really shouldnt be used.
Hickman's X-Men isnt a bad launching point, unfortunately it came out during the woke multimedia era and suffers from it a bit. If you can look around the woke bits that were peppered in, its actually good.
>>
>>154792038
By Morrison I mean the general era. I like the mutants as a culture thing and I love that generation of kids more than the ones that came before and after them. But none of it belongs in a show that is supposed to be built entirely around '90s nostalgia. Eve of Destruction was the send off to Lobdell on the X-Men so that's the point where the '90s effectively ends for me.
>>
>>154792117
>>154792211
You don't have to reply to yourself if you're going to spout idiocy. Especially if that idiocy is being used to advocate for fucking Cuckoa.
>>
>>154791984
>>154792038
>>154792117
Why are we acting like they have to do it 1 for 1 and not what TAS was doing which was just reimaginings of past stories?
That said I knew we were all fucked when they started playing with the costumes, that was the biggest charm about TAS was how static the team was, and whatever was the latest look for the time was how they made everyone appear be it the Shair and Eric the Red still in there 80s style outfits or the latest threads for X-Factor. When they just started playing around doing whatever it became clear the nostalgia dream was dead.
>>
2000-2005 was so bad for x-men comics they had to do the M Day story line to erase all the dog shit history and characters they flooded xmen with.
>>
>>154787946
S2 was mid as fuck but good to see Toad, Pyro and Avalanche back,
>>
>>154787946
I tried watching the first season of X-Men 97 but I was turned down by how every attack feels weightless and ineffectual, kinda like WWE but lamer, because in wrestling at least the wins and losses are well demarcated per showing.
Does it get any better later on?
>>
>>154792157
>I don't care about ""Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch", I care about "Magneto's kids"
Why are you people like this?

Again, these characters already appeared in actual 90s episodes and weren't villains, Pietro was on the X-Factor team. In the actual 60s comics where they were in the Brotherhood they were teenagers forced onto the team by Magneto, they weren't really evil and wanted to get out. But you don't care about any of that, you probably never read any of that and think they were actual willing villains because "hur dur start with Claremont", so you want grown adult Wanda and Pietro to voluntarily do a heel turn and join a villain group just because you think they should be eternally stuck in a status quo Lee and Kirby had them move past within a year.
>>
>>154792299
No, it won't improve for you at all, everyone who has given the show an 8.5+ is actually just a dumb shill. Something like Solo Leveling will be more your speed though, you'd be better served leaving this thread and never coming back.
>>
>>154792324
The interpersonal relationships is what made compelling storylines.
A character is far more interesting when having to face moral dilemmas such as blood vs water or moral good vs family ties.
A large part of xmen is navigating issues and topics that would create divisions in households. Like politics or social issues.
Clearly your a comicbook fan and not an xmen fan.
>>
>>154792324

>>
>>154791458
>Quicksilver
>Scarlet Witch
Why do you want Avengers characters in an X-Men show?
>>
>>154792256

>>
>>154790929
>>154791159
>>154791784
You know, judging that 97 Danger didn't end up killing one of the students and wasn't a slave of Xavier shows she's planned on joining the X-Men with no awkward rationale about it. I also feel Marvel is trying to reintroduce Danger in a more positive light because a wider audience is getting to know her now that she's in a video game thanks to Arcsys.
>>
>>154792505
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are actually apart of the X-Men catalogue and brand.
Thats why Fox had licensing rights to those names and Marvel had to use names like Wanda and Pietro instead when they debuted in the MCU.
People absolutely hate this fact.
>>
>>154792434
That's a lot of word salad to try and justify your not being able to get over a status quo the twins left behind in the comics in 1965 because, and I'm going to say this again and hope it sinks in this time, THEY WEREN'T EVIL. There is no good reason for this cartoon, or the comics, to be trying to put these characters back onto a villain team. They aren't a "household" with Magneto, he didn't raise them, they were stuck in the Brotherhood with him for a few months, and were grown adults when he shows up claiming to be their father, and the 90s cartoon basically adapted that part but without the prior Brotherhood history. Magneto's not a beloved family member that they'd feel obliged to turn heel and join his terrorist cell for.

>Clearly your a comicbook fan and not an xmen fan.
Why the hell would anyone still be an X-Men fan in 2026? How many car crashes would you need to have been in?
>>
>>154792472
They already appeared in the 90s cartoon and weren't villains you retarded casual. They haven't been villains in the comics since 1965 and even then they were never really evil. You're just telling everyone you're a cartoon casual for Evolution and WATXM.
>>
>>154792505
The damage that mcu has had on comics and peoples expectations can never be corrected. Yikes.
>>
>>154792584
The brotherhood isnt evil.
Magneto is the good guy.
You dont understand team dynamics or the social/ political views of the chatacters at odds in xmen.
Its more often than not more complex than this guy good this guy bad.
We get it, you love the mcu.
You hate that Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver debuted in X-Men comics.
You hate their 50+ year history.
You hate X-Men Evolution had Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver apart of the brotherhood.
You just love the mcu so much that you just need all your favorite mcu happy friends together all the time in one big happy team because the mcu is so precious to you. Fuck the mcu and smooth brain man children it fostered.
>>
>>154787946
>surge
no one cares about this character. nevermind the fact that mystique has led the brotherhood before. without magneto these mooks don't really have a center.

if disney wants more female mutants there are plenty to choose from new mutants, or x-factor, or x-force, or generation x. no one cares about surge, her power set is very simple and if her origin story were compelling we would know it already
>>
>>154792540
>Danger
Sentinels are cooler.
>>
I'm gonna need a Sentinel team.
>>
>>154792725
Sentinels aren't meant to join the X-Men.
>>
>>154787946
Alolan Invincible?
>>
>>154792505
As you can see from the thread, they metaphorically want to pee on these characters to mark their territory. Wanda and Pietro's earliest appearances were in X-Men comics as members of the Brotherhood, so that's all they're allowed to ever be to these anons, and none of the rest of their history matters to them because it happened in books that didn't have an X on the cover.

By the same logic, Wolverine would be forever a Hulk character, Sabretooth would be an Iron Fist character, Mystique and Deathbird would be Carol's villains and nothing more.

>>154792564
Fox and Disney had worked out a shared rights deal on Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch that allowed both companies to use both characters, and the MCU used the names "Quicksilver" and "Scarlet Witch" in movie credits, but just never worked them into being said out loud in any of the movies. I can't remember the Fox movies ever actually using the name "Quicksilver" in the movies either, just in the credits.

The MCU eventually took the fact that "Scarlet Witch" had never been said out loud and worked it into the story by making it a title she gets during WandaVision, but if Disney were allowed to use those names in the credits they'd obviously have been allowed to use them in the scripts if they'd wanted to.
>>
>>154792802
The names Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch were never used until after the Disney Fox merger was tabled. It was added after. The mere fact a deal even needed to be worked out, means Fox held the rights because they were X brand owned and apart of that licensing catelog. Thats also why they couldnt be mutants or related to magneto in the mcu. Theyre essentially OCs to naviagte licensing. Theyre butchered shit renditions of the characters
>>
>>154792697
>The brotherhood isnt evil.
>Magneto is the good guy.
Thanks for outing yourself as a schizo so we can just disregard everything you say as the gibberings of a delusional madman. It's not "complex", they're just bad guys.

>You hate that Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver debuted in X-Men comics.
For five issues. And then they moved on, which you clearly hate, since you want to lock them in the Brotherhood forever.

>You hate their 50+ year history.
Says the guy who wants to just focus on year 1 and ignore years 2-49. If you didn't have double standards you'd have no standards at all.

>You hate X-Men Evolution had Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver apart of the brotherhood.
If you cared about the comics, you'd also care about that cartoon portraying them as willing members of the Brotherhood and willing villains who never leave and are still there even in the future timeline. But you don't care about that, because it's what you actually want.
>>
Why are people so scared of having characters just be bad guys?

Anon, they literally use those names in the movie credits. They could have used the names in the script if they'd wanted to. There's no way they would have been allowed to use those names in the credits if they didn't have the right to do so.

>Theyre butchered shit renditions of the characters
>better take on Quicksilver's personality than Fox
>generally Avengers-accurate Scarlet Witch and adaptation of her main comics romance before they adapt the Benis stuff and ruin her

>>
>>154792934

We're literally talking about a cartoon adaptation of a comic.
Evolution is a more accurate comparable.
Dude we get it you love the mcu, go watch it on disney plus and leave X shit alone.
>>
>>154792878
Try to imagine how you'd feel if people were arguing Rogue should be a villain and a member of the Brotherhood because that's what she was in her earliest appearances, and she was never allowed to grow or change. Imagine after decades of her being a heroine, there were still people vocally insisting that she needed to be a villain on the Brotherhood, and every adaptation should be doing this as well, and never letting her move past it.
>>
>>154792938
Nothing what youre saying is accurate and based in reality.
Its just what people who are reddit obsessed with the mcu perpetuate so they can have their "everyones here smash bros" avengers fantasies realized in every continuity because theyre annoying.
>>
>>154792968
Rogue as a villain is honestly a refreshing take on the character at this point
>>
>>154792968
Its a cartoon adaptation, it can creatively do whatever it wants.
But if it was smart it would utilize the most popular characters in their most popular renditions or appearances.
>>
I hate how avenger fanboys always try to stealth into x threads and say the most avenger shit possible and expect it to fly.
>>
>>154792949
>Evolution is a more accurate comparable.
In other words, the twins being "Magneto's mutant kids" is more important to you than accurate characterization, since an adaptation treating them as willing villains who never change doesn't even strike you as the glaring inaccuracy to the source material that it is.

Stop demanding these characters be villains in your cartoons and I'll gladly leave you alone.

Mystique & Nightcrawler.
Mystique & Rogue.
Xavier & Juggernaut

Gambit & Morrows history
Wolverine and Sabretooths history
Magneto Quicksilver & Scarlet

It's probably gonna suck without DeMayo. Say what you will about his sexuality (or sexting subordinates). He got the X-Men in a way not many people working at Disney do. If they want to bring her back as an ally, all they gotta do is have the X-Men boot her back up and get her to dial back the training efforts a notch.
Unlike the comics, there's no dead student and trauma-induced hatred for Xavier to work through first, so they could get that done in a single side-plot scene.

Besides, she arguably produced results by forcing Polaris to lock in. If they're serious about beating Apocalypse, they'd be stupid to not at least try to get her to help them.

The original TAS covered a lot of story arcs through adaptation. But most of those stories were from 80's comics, some 70s and 60s but not much. There was basically no 90's stories.
97' is out and is covering 2000 story lines.
This series completely skipped over the 90's comics.
Even though xmen was the greatest selling comic of all time during the 90s and then2000s marked the giant fall off for comics because the stories and retcons were fucking terrible. Why would you adapt the era that had the largst fall off of all time? Makes zero sense.

Did the optic blast hurt him, though? Sure, it knocked him back, but I'm pretty sure he isn't immune to impact. Plus, iirc, we never saw Cyclops take his own optic blast in the cartoon, only that he and Havok canceled each other out.

It's less they skipped it and the original show covered most of them.
They had a two parter inspired from the Phalanx Covenant
They did a two parter inspired from Age of Apocalypse
Memories Unbound, Dreams of Gore, fucksakes both Bishop and Cable were created in the 90s

A lot of the OG show had the 1990 stories and it deeply worries me what kind of shills are here making these defenses that "well the 90s sucked that's why they skipped over it"
mother fucker they skipped over none of the 90s stories, the series just ended before they could play with events of Fatal Attraction and the 96 - 99 events which the two big ones were Onsalught and Zero Tolerance both of which had enough material to cover two seasons in the same way they did their seas 1 2 and 3 arcs of the show where they just slow bake the grand finale with a lot of character centric episodes which they would have had plenty of in that era as already noted you could do highlight episodes of mutants from the time such as Marrow, and most of Gen X, but what we got feels more like a panic rush to just get out of the 90s and into shit that most didn't want and they know this otherwise why fucking advertise this as a continuation of the 90s show?

Disagree, the most charming thing about the cartoon was how many stories they took big and small to retell them in different ways. Some of them weren't even from the X-books but they took a mediocre story and spun it into something interesting on it's own. To ignore them because of their "worth" is just telling everyone that these creators are massive hacks.

Sanctuary was an adaptation of X-Men #1-3 that took a few elements from Fatal Attractions (namely Xavier's Shi'ar walking suit). There was also Omega Red, the X-Factor line-up, Nightcrawler and Graydon Creed being Mystique's son, Gambit's ex-wife Bella Donna, Barry Windsor-Smith and Larry Hama's Weapon X stuff, and the origin they gave Sinister was derived from what would eventually become The Further Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix or maybe it was like One Man's Worth and the Age of Apocalypse and they used that script as a springboard for his 616 origin. The Nasty Boys were also Sinister's 90s group, in the 80s he had the Marauders, a different line-up.

Your argument only holds value if they didn't name it 97 and implied it was picking up with the same story telling style.
That's the issue here. Danger couldn't have happen between 97 and 2003 if the series was just going, thus why call it 97 and claim it's just "picking up where it ended" ? That's what is making everyone sour to this in a real bad way, they can tell this was just marketing shill nonsense to exploit the old fags that grew up with the show.

>They kind of already did The Twelve
So what? Do you think modern audiences watched or even remember what happened in TAS? With a few tweaks, the writers could easily re-do this plotline, and no one would notice. They do that all the time in comics.
>>
>>154801711
They already did a "What if Xavier died in the past" story. They don't need to do another take that was based on their original one. There are plenty of other X-book stories from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s they can do instead of repeating themselves.
>>154801726
Onslaught was a plot device, not a character. And The Twelve was a Mystery Box that ended up with a disappointing conclusion, as these stories tend to do when someone comes up with one with no actual intended resolution and another writer multiple writers down the line decides to finally wrap it up.

As the OP of this thread and all the other watch threads regarding X-Men 97 S2, I thought I would've seen this amount of X-Men tism around the season finale and not midway through the season, all cause by this cute mutie from 2004 no less. I personally don't read comics so I don't have any attachments to certain storylines or any qualms of the writers rearranging storylines from the comics to better suit the cartoons as I've watched all the X-Men cartoons so I'm that kinda guy. I am enjoying Season 2 nonetheless and excited to see how the story will resolve itself come time for the finale.

>>
>>154809594
I think they wanted to do a revival of 97 because it was a fan favorite among the studio and it's a safer bet in a climate where the X-Men were in hibernation so reintroducing the original cast while adding their own twists and turns on the property would be a sound idea to do. I can see why certain storylines like Logan having bone claws getting cut short would upset people though.

Yeah, just feels like the show that needed it the least, evo and wataxm both had way more open endings, and adding modern stuff there feels less strange/needs less rework. (Plus tas having such a massive cast comparatively).

The logan thing i find odd..cause this is a plot that WAS connected to apocalypse in the comics, why change stuff to make it less tied lol.

like go watch one episode of spider-man tas and then take notes of how much shit happens in one episode
>>
>>154810225
yeah spider-man would fight morbius, kraven, and the punisher three times an episode, for three episodes.
>>
>>154810225
Phoenix Saga was like ten episodes and two seasons. They had a lot of stuff in one episode, but the important stuff, they tried to give it enough time.
The problem ain't really that it condensed too much, rather than the former writers knew how to do so. I watched the OG cartoon in the 90s being a kid and again as an adult and I still feel them well paced. First season of 97 was ok-ish, but this one feels like they just want to get over with each episode so they can move to the next one.

>But then, they're trying to make a big deal for Magneto's death when he didn't die in Genosha, despite it was Gambit who saved them all.
On that note, why the fuck are they pining so much over Lehnsherr's death!? So he turned over a new leaf for the last few years of his life. That's great. He was still a bloodthirsty terrorist, mutant supremacist, and shitty parent for most of his lived days. And are we all just going to ignore the fact that he, a traumatized militant Jew with a latent messiah complex, was the absolute worst person to let make any attempt at reforming Nur?

Fuck, man. No wonder Apocalypse was able to procure Remy's casket unnoticed. Because no one visits his grave.

>Desu, evo isnt that far removed when it comes to wanda
There's no other version of Wanda that's a schizo who grew up in an asylum, and no other version of her that's an angry goth stereotype motivated 100% by daddy issues.

The whole point of their first year in the comics was that they were good people who should be heroes but were trapped in a villain team, eventually they get out and achieve their destiny of being heroes. Evolution has them just stay in the Brotherhood forever.

The first two seasons of the original X-Men show had much better pacing. Yeah, Spider-Man's pacing was ridiculously fast, X-Men's wasn't.
>>
>>154812366
I'm guessing when Remender tried to make Havok take a moderate position on mutant affairs by trying to diminish the boundaries between mutant and human by telling people he and people like him should be judged by the content of his character and not the color-coded pattern of his genome, standard civil rights stuff. That rubbed the very loud snowflakes in a bad way because now it implies their unique escape fantasy character would just be another John or Jane, and Remender mishandled the pushback to put it lightly.

Or maybe it's the shipping crap and Havok was with someone they didn't approve of, who knows, the fanbase is full of little girls that care about that shit.

>harkness tries helping her trough her issues
>actual bad luck powers potrayed as such

Comparatively to quicksilver...
>>
>>154811583
Because the show is entering an era when gay commies took over the franchise and they all creamed themselves with the idea of Magneto murdering humanity for the crime of bigotry because they wished to kill their families for not accepting them, and the rest of the X-men followed along. That's what ended up giving us Krakoa. They really don't see anything wrong with Magneto's actions, they think it's very much justified.
>>
>>154812852
>One would hope that a revival series intended for adults would have fewer sloppy mistakes.
First season was for us adults to get hooked up with the series and later give us 2000s stories. It's now back to be for kids, or rather, mentally undeveloped adults.

Morrison hated Magneto passionately and tried to commit IP sabotage so no one would be able to use him again. It was Claremont who immediately undid that.
>>154814400
DeMayo outlined the plot in the first two seasons. As he says, the script drafts were completed, the animatics were being reviewed, work was already getting started on animating the episodes. Season 3 will be the first not to use any of his outline. The current showrunner says that Magneto's death as written by DeMayo used a discretion shot and he decided nah, I want to see this guy get disintegrated on screen. The Brood episode also got pretty gory. They're not writing for kids.
>>
>>154814708

>>154815527
Magneto in general, the Fox movies treated him as a villain.
>What people often forget, of course, is that Magneto, unlike the lovely Sir Ian McKellen, is a mad old terrorist twat. they adapted zero tolerance (and made it GOOD which should be impossible) and even gave a love letter to Liefeld merc lore with maverick and kane.

yes and no

first the new 00s fans were facing TRIGGERED at wolverine at the xmen personality genociding the 00s ocs
then bendis basically shat cyclops up (who was widely beloved as the decade's mvp) even if he was selling like hotcakes, it was the bendis-sponsored/linked events that set the beginning of the end for x-men lore wise.

Of course anything even resembling recovery was thoroughly raped by perlkiker trying to replace the franchise with the Inhumans, so in the end bendis wasn't even the worst, he was just the first in a long line of fuck ups at all levels of the production chain.

The greatest selling comics of all time were 90s xmen.
The late 90s through the 2000's continued the downfall of comics and xmen.
Everyone hated all these new retcons and bullshit changes coming outta the xmen comics.
Then by 2008 marvel had gutted all funding to x comics with hopes fox would stop making movies so the licensing rights would revert back to marvel.
Then when marvel got fox they put big swinging dick hickman on an xmen comic.
>>

* 89-94 x-men

The millisecond Lobdell and Madudeira entered the fray shit started going down hard. A bunch of writers quit and Lobdell got handed all their books and he had no idea what he was doing, he just kept hyping up onslaught until it all imploded in a big nothing burger. Then he quit, heroes reborn demolished marvel, and the two x-writers after him just did whatever, then the twelve happened and it was completely retarded as an arc.

2000 was attempting to course correct super fucking hard already with a bunch of books that petered out early. But half of the shit they were trying was just not working out and claremont was a fucking mistake. There was no plan until morrison happened, and there was STILL no plan after he had his meltie and sabotaged the book, with the marked exception of academy x and the xavier book, so Quesada coped with M-Day which was a complete shitstorm

After that you had Kyle & Short and Fraction who did the busy workl of rebuilding the franchise with actually good stories. /co/ started talking about X-Men again thanks to academy X and messiah complex, read the archives.

>Then by 2008 marvel had gutted all funding to x comics with hopes fox would stop making movies so the licensing rights would revert back to marvel.
That was perlmutter in 2014

x-men in 2008 was in the midst of the Utopia era which is widely considered a fucking great time period, and what reignited interest in the X-Men in /co/ (i should know, wanting to discuss them brought me here)

if you are gonna tell me that era was bad you can just admit you are a pleb who hasn't read the comics, its the same result.

>x-men in 2008 was in the midst of the Utopia era which is widely considered a fucking great time period, and what reignited interest in the X-Men in /co/ (i should know, wanting to discuss them brought me here)

Civil War itself was awful but it started a great era for Marvel as a whole, that lasted until AvX. Which is also where the X-Men fell apart and never recovered.
>>
>>154820798
>I'm still baffled we're at the point where the vocal fanbase on social media is constantly preaching love and tolerance, but hates all the characters that actually preach love and tolerance the right way.
It's
They're also one of the most intolerant and xenophobic groups that have love the direction of the franchise continuing to flirt with the idea of segregation. Remender shouldn't have said what he said on social media, but someone had to call them out and tard wrangle the message of acceptance and tolerance back from the hands of writers that keep losing the plot.
>>
>>154821627
You can see how the franchise move to a different audience when Magneto became more prominent because the new fandom looks to punish the intolerant while previous eras had Xavier preaching tolerance. The new fandom is most of the snowflakes who would destroy your life for a slur.
>>
>>154822499
>>
>>154822639
I mean, this isn't complicated. Infinite tolerance and words without action to back them up aren't worthwhile causes. People who respect neither see both a weakness.
This is why people dig the whole Cyclops pivot to "we will be Earths greatest heroes, without ever letting people forget what we'd be if they make us their enemy"

This. I don't understand why everyone is complaining about them doing 2000s stories when that's what comes next. Do you guys really want to see Onslaught, which was massively disappointing and led to Heroes Reborn, when comic that nearly killed Marvel completely, or the Twelve which was outright just bad?
>>
>>154824416
Yeah? This is the show that did 90s and 80s stories. At least if its using 00s stuff i would like it to be written as if it happened in the 90s.

Also heroes reborn's failure was..due to it being a reboot to the other marvel characters. And the twelve wasnt that bad.
>>
>>154824628
Honestly, it comes off more as you wanting to do those stories for the sake of them being written in the 90s as opposed to if they were actually good or not. I'm sorry, but I'd rather we skip actually bad stories and move on to better ones even if they're from a different era instead of just being beholden to a specific decade.

>>
>>154824937
Sorry, but nothing is worse than the wet fart that was the payoff to Onslaught and I honestly don't think anyone actually liked the Twelve. If you have to preface something with "well, it wasn't that bad" it generally means it actually was. I refuse to believe anyone who is simping for Scott fucking Lobdell X-Men comics actually read them.
>>
>>154824948
He's not wrong. Are we really trying to pretend anything marvel put out post 94 until the 2000s was actually good? The company literally almost went under. You guys try citing that X-Men never sold better than it did in the 90s, well the late 90s were one of the lowest points in sales for that franchise. The whole reason the brought Morrison on and allowed him to do his line wide revamp was because of how bad sales were. It was a last ditch desperation move, and it worked out. That run was seen as immensely popular and has informed X-Men stories since then. Wheadon's Astonishing is lauded as one of the best modern X-Men stories, and you had offshoot books like Uncanny X-Force that are considered modern day classics. People forget, but post Schism, a lot of people were completely on board with Kieron Gillen's Uncanny book, where Rightclops really took form. People like to credit Bendis for Rightclops but it really started coming into prevalence with Dark Reign and Cyclops establishing Utopia years before Bendis was on the book. The X-Men didn't really start to fall apart again until post AvX when Marvel just couldn't figure out what to do with them for like a solid decade until Hickman came on, and that in and of itself is it's own can of worms.
>>
>>154824937
There are only like two major 90s storylines even left now that they've done Fatal Attractions and Operation Zero Tolerance. And those last stories aren't particularly good.
