There needs to be more comics and cartoons with /x/ vibes. Which one is your favorite?
>Men in Black
>Hellboy
>Gravity Falls
>Inside Job
>Secret Saturdays
>The Department of Truth
>Proof
>The Perhapanauts
>Roswell Conspiracies
Discuss anything else I forgot to mention.

i wish they have actually interesting things to say about these conspiracies but it's just a way to ground the rick and morty scifi

>The Department of Truth
I liked this one. The issue about bigfoot being a tulpa is my favorite.
>>

Pantheon quite literally mentions /x/.

cool
>>
>>154795008
I wish Van Helsing from 2004 had more cartoons than just the prequel.

>>
President Curtis is gonna be like that.
>>
>>154795655
Are you in the wrong thread?
>>

No, just saying the main plot of the show is gonna be him fighting cryptids, urban legends, conspiracies, that kinda stuff.
>>
>>154795717
What show?
>>
>>154795783

President Curtis. Rick and Morty spinoff. Premieres tonight.

Does Scooby-Doo count?

Weirdly enough, Absolute Martian Mind****er had a pretty interesting version of literal American Thought Police spooks.

Perhaps not so weird, since he is a literal alien, the kind of thing government agents are usually after.

Also, their group appears to be run by an Eagle Man.

Another comic that's mind blowing to read on a tab of acid

The original Ben 10 is the perfect /x/ show. They road tripped around the US fighting aliens, ghost and magic. Ben even turns into a cryptid sometimes.
>>154796486
Scooby Doo absolutely counts. Especially in the movies where the monsters are real

I want to say Godzilla the Animated series should count
But thats just because im biased
The monsters are basically cryptids even though they are kaiju sized
And there are aliens
But, i know Godzilla isn't /x/
I just want a monster of the week kaiju show again

I really like From Hell and Strangehaven. Both feature secret societies and supernatural shenanigans. The former is a cross-section of Victorian England around the time of the Ripper murders, and the latter is essentially English Twin Peaks.
The Invisibles covers a lot of /x/ topics, from eschatology to voodoo to government secrets.
Certain Love and Rockets storylines deal with demonic visitations and the dead, like Ghost of Hoppers.
Promethea is a mystic travelogue and magick lecture.
There's also The Silent Invasion, dealing with government coverups and UFOs, which I am planning to read soon.

It's Japan. They still deliver excellent quality when crunched. You can wait for them to take their time without a corpo treating them like slaves.

It's kind of insane how there was actual insightful media about parapolitics up to the 2000's and then all we got was meme shit. Counter culture stuff like Wilson and Pynchon, sure, but even more or less mainstream fare like X-Files, Twin Peaks, Serial Experiments Lain, Metal Gear, Killer7. Hell, fucking JFK, a star studded, high budget movie about how the Kennedy assassination was an inside job.

Media has become so depoliticized after 2005.

Can someone translate this bullshit for me, I genuinely cannot warp my brain into a shape where I can figure out what this comic is trying to say?
Spider-Man is a government stooge? (Has this guy ever read a Spider-Man comic?)
Superheroes are bad?
Audiences don't think critically about media?
Or is this guy just completely up his own ass?
>>
>>154811582
>Media has become so depoliticized after 2005.
No media has become rampantly politicised in the last two decades, that's why everything is "woke" now because it's massive companies using their media arms to let SJWs push identity politics to keep people pissed off at each other instead of focusing their anger higher up the food chain. Literally every piece of western media is trying to "say something" now.
>>
>>154812336
Fighting people who harm or want to harm other people is bad.
Change is good, no matter how it is done.
>>
>>154812352
>it's massive companies using their media arms to let SJWs push identity politics to keep people pissed off at each other instead of focusing their anger higher up the food chain.

>>
>>154812336
This is pretty specifically about Spider-Man Homecoming and to a lesser extent about the MCU and other action movies from the last 20 years in general. A lot of them deal with a dangerous radical who is arguably justified in what he wants, but always depicted as some combination of hypocritical, delusional or bloodthirsty. See also, Black Panther or The Batman. It's usually either that, or some generic evil alien overlord. They also tend to depict the US government, the US Army, the US Intelligence Agencies, The American Police and corporations, mostly tech corporations, in a very idealized way. To say the least.

The audience reaction is a reference to just how well that formula worked for damn near two decades. And two how many of them there are, at its height we got three MCU movies a year, plus whatever they've been spamming Disney+ with.
>>
>>154812372
>They also tend to depict the US government, the US Army, the US Intelligence Agencies, The American Police and corporations, mostly tech corporations, in a very idealized way.
You mean the same movies where half the villains are corpo/tech CEOs, and the US government is usually shown as either incompetent, or outright antagonistic to the main characters?
>>
>>154812370
No dude, banks and shareholders. It's always fucking banks and shareholders. Woke itself isn't capitalism, the companies have just weaponised SJWs to fuck up every aspect of life to create a more fragmented society so that people will align with brands and IPs rather than each other. Either people will rally behind a brand because it aligns with their beliefs (or at least seems to go against the beliefs of people they don't like), or they'll go against that brand and toward another, but you go far up enough the corporate chain and you'll find that they're both owned by the same fucking people.
You remember how people were screaming about the Sydney Sweeney American Eagle Jeans ad? And how some of them were accusing Sweeney and American Eagle of being eugenics pushing Neo-Nazis? American Eagle Outfitters is run by a Jewish dude. It's all just bullshit, nothing is real, it's all a smokescreen for rich people to keep making money.

>A lot of them deal with a dangerous radical who is arguably justified in what he wants, but always depicted as some combination of hypocritical, delusional or bloodthirsty.
Yes, the methods by which you try to achieve things is what gets you judged, not what you want to achieve.

>I want money
Reasonable, and justified wish.
>So I'll steal/kill to get it
Unjustified. Now you're a bad guy.

>I want more secure and rational immigration politics
Reasonable, and justified wish.
>So I'll steal/kill to get it
Unjustified. Now you're a bad guy.

>I want a more balanced wealth/resource distribution
Reasonable, and justified wish.
>So I'll steal/kill to get it
Unjustified. Now you're a bad guy.

Weird to think Beast Wars sorta had that feel what with the Vok being more alien than the Cybertronians, and leaving behind all that ancient alien tech.
>>
>>154812475
I mean, that's exactly the point. The villain says "this thing is bad and the status quo must change" and is correct in saying that, which means the hero opposing it would be bad, so you have a conundrum, which is always solved by having the villain conveniently go "and the way we solve it is by eating babies" so the movie can write the villain's points off, the hero can beat the villain and the movie ignores whatever good points the villain had any further
>>
Is that degenerate still schizoing about this shit?
>>
>>154822982
Who are you talking about?
>>
>>154822491
>which means the hero opposing it would be bad
No it doesn't. People squabbling over resources is a natural thing because resources are finite.
People squabbling over differences is natural because people naturally don't agree on everything.
You can try a counteract these thing in different ways.
The hero doesn't oppose them trying to counteract it, but how they try to counteract it.
Can you name a single cape movie where whatever good point the villain may have had is completely ignored afterwards, because at least off the top of my head, marvel movies don't do this.
Wakanda opens up and tries to use it's technology to help poor communities round the world.
The movies after infinity war deals with not only the outfall of Thanos snapping half the universe, but also wether it was a good thing or not, and what happens when you suddenly double the population again after a few years.
