One of the key failings is that despite the attempt, all the turtles have nothing in common really with ther personalities in the comics — another problem is April isn't White like in the comics.This has shown to be a problematic show.
Just make the Turtles cool. Kids like stuff that's a little edgy and badass. They don't want to see their cool superhero characters acting like "real kids" or going to school. That isn't cool. That's lame. The problem with Turtles these days is the people who control the IP have no clue how to appeal to actual kids. Just 20-something traumautists who don't buy toys.

>>154823290That's really all it comes down to. The Rogen turtles are not well liked, even though the movie made money. The series does improve on them and the animation style significantly, but people didn't actually want more zoomer turtles.
