My biggest worry when Lanterns fails (and it will fail) is that DC will go "I guess audiences don't care about Green Lantern" and shelve the character forever. Not just Hal either. No more Guy. No more Kyle. No more Stewart. No more Alan. Even the diversity hires like Jessica and Baz. What is preventing them from taking like a space cop who can patrol an entire sector of the galaxy, and do anything interesting with it?

>>154821878The main reason it will fail is because they have never once tried to sell the idea of the GL to the audience. It's always been ITS A SUPERHERO AND WE KNOW ABOUT IT SO YOU SHOULD JUST RUN WITH IT! Let's be honest, there's never been a good live action or even cartoon intro to the GL concept. To children it's just an exciting new thing you don't have to really go too into. But that just relegates the GL to an addition to an already established more popular brand that can't stand on it's own. And that position can easily be filled by something far more interesting or well known/well liked. They have to sell the concept and not just hope people will just get it. They tried that with the first GL movie and they just fucked it up. And they prevented a new GL being put in the Snyder universe because..can't have a nigger lantern. So now it's just a property no one really wants to touch other then the fact that it's moderately well known and the ones in charge are out of touch no talent imbeciles who believe they can just push whatever stupid shit they want and the goycattle will like it because they say so. >>154822803It did not. Kyle IS a pop culture spouting machine like movie QuillThe cast of lovable losers can be the other lanterns like G'Nort, Arisia, Laira, Hannu, Medaphyl, Tomar Tu, and Chaselon.Wacky weird alien places work perfectly in GL stuff. They can use Evil Star and Bolphungaa if dumb mook villains are needed. Larfleeze has a characterization perfect for that style of movie, he's basically an evil comic book guy.
