I don't mean just for one series or one network, I mean across the ENTIRE medium.

In your opinion, out of the entire history of officially released cartoon episodes, which one would you call the worst of all time?

Altruists may genuinely be the worst R&S episode of all time. I've always felt Ren Seeks Help got too much hate, because it at least didn't drag on for 40 goddamn minutes.
>>
>>154842830
>wasting 40 minutes of your time with the expectation that you take it in like a good boy.
The title is definitely fitting in that manner.
>>
How much do you think the subject matter affects how a story is received? Like let's say it's some of the most awful, horrific ideas you can think of, but it's well executed. Would you willingly watch that? Or does an episode of a show become unwatchable after a certain point? I feel like it's not very well discussed, where the story becomes bad. Is it purely from concept, or is it writing quality? Both? Can good writing save an awful premise?
>>

>Is it purely from concept, or is it writing quality? Both?
Both. Sometimes writing if it's creative enough can make up for a lackluster story but if the mere concept is stillborn, then not even the most Disney-renaissance-level writing team could pull it off.

Remember the domestic abuse episode

Brenda Q? Far more interesting than the anthology episodes of late. They demand two things out of you, patience and knowing what the fuck they're referencing.

Off the top of my head, the Bendy episode from Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends.

The episode is so bad it makes people actively rage

This episode of stalling in superhero squad.

That episode is like a metaphor for how society should treat blacks (or any “oppressed group” really) who do crimes, and yet the established governing body (Herriman and Frankie) or law excuses it. It honestly can be used as a child’s first redpill before they reach high school.
>>
>>154842830
That's the one that didn't air on TV right? So John was able to keep all his bullshit in without having to edit it down for broadcast.
>>
>>154845453
>That's the one that didn't air on TV right?
Almost, the last 3 aired in commie land in a censored state. That's how people found out other episodes existed before they were released on DVD.
>>
>>154845453
Spike TV aired it
>>
>>154842763
You genuinely enjoy the modern political slop that's called "mature" storytelling?
>>
>>154842763
That's when I checked out of Family Guy
>>
>>154842763
That depends on what's worse, an extremely bad episode in an already bad show, or an uncharacteristically terrible episode in an otherwise consistently good show.
With the former, you can just pick anything from some trash like Mega Babies and be done with it, the latter requires a little more thinking
>>
>>154842763
Probably some episodes of nuspongebob.
The Squidward in diapers and whirly brains episodes come to mind.

This actually looks more like if Ren is a vgamer and is playing Genshin or some anime slop game.

Just too hilarious to think about it now.....
>>
>>154849198
Ren's more of a Blue Archive player, if you know what I mean...
>>
>>154850510
I don’t actually. Please explain to me as if I was a small and easily manipulated child whose mother is also in the room but is currently talking to your mom about boring grown-up shit so she’s only kind of paying attention.
>>
>>154851120
You see, Ren likes 'em YOUNG. I'm talking grab their wee wee and vee vee before they even speak full sentences.

The "Victory Clasp" episode in New Looney Tunes. So awful, I wanted to see the show cancelled afterwards...And it was.

The episode of Dexters Lab where he gets amnesia and Deedee and her friends put makeup on him, let him run around in his underwear and kiss a duck ass.

Maybe it’s just me but I always hated that episode because Dexters essentially had a brain injury and instead of helping him they’re just cruel and abusing.

>>154842763
thats either one of those too loud XD shows or one of those simpsons episodes were the episode is just an add for the guest star

That Back at the Barnyard episode where Pig goes golfing executed this concept funnier. It's been so long since I last seen it, but I'm sure it'll come back to me. (Had the whole show downloaded years ago, but never got around to binging it.)
>>
>>154851436
i never watched it but i heard the point was that nobody in production gave a shit and the whole series was a shitpost
>>
>>154851459
>the whole series was a shitpost
150%! I remember at least binging the first batch of episodes before, and Dr. Pig shows up early. Can't say you'll be disappointed compared to Savino Dexter/PPG episodes that are made to waste your time.

You think that’s bad remember when Family Guy was trying so hard for an Emmy with episodes like the bank vault, the hurricane, and domestic abuse?
>>
>>154853638
>domestic abuse was the next episode after the hurricane one
I'm starting to remember why that was the last season I kept up with as it was airing
>>
>>154853638
Weren't those eps satirizing emmy bait?
>>
>>154854590
yeah a few of them were
>>
>>154854590
No they were just real, but they did have an episode like that a couple of years later
>>
This episode as it introduced Timantha and caused people to become brainwashed and troon out

It is the worst cartoon ever made through

This show made me feel like I was being raped. Like actual skin-crawling violation. It's my personal worst cartoon ever.
>>
>>154852801
I tried my best to make it as accurate to Ren's character as possible, since APC Ren's a lot more like John K.
>>
>>154851459
>Whole series was a shitpost

But what a magnificent shit it was, wasn't it, lads? No wonder the series is still fresh and meme worthy even today, even got to troll my younger brother when he swore that 'male cows' existed (and didn't believe me when I told him that bulls -were- the males, and not a whole different animal, hahahah.

Good fucking times, Pig and Rat made the best duo.

>>154851324
That one was straight up messed up. Watched it when I was like 6 or so, when it recently aired, and didn't see it again until CN ran a Dexter's Lab marathon when I was like 11. I had thought I imagined the whole thing until then, lolz.
>>
>>154856543
That show, like Seth's 'Cavalcade of "Comedy"', are proof that maybe sometimes, -sometimes-, being restrained by your writing team and producers is the better way to go. Seth alone is as unfunny as John K alone is disturbing.
