>biggest, most popular comic book character by a massive margin through games, movies, cartoons, etc.>his comics have been absolute garbage for 15+ yearsHow does this happen?
>>154849206Spider-man is recognizable and Disney unfortunately knows how to market hard And they're not even focusing on Spider-man low-key, this shit a just a stealth x-men prequelThe x-men cant even let him have his own comics without some crossover shit, and now he cant jave his own movie lol
>>154849206Spider-Man is ground zero for the deracination and immiseration of the West.
>>154849206people who work in film, animation, and game development are more successful and more socially adjusted than people who work in comics, who are mostly bitter middle aged men and troons
>will make close to a billy in a single weekendWhat is he thinking right now?
>>154849301Those aren’t real words
>>154849314Yes they are you Hylic.
>>154849206>>his comics have been absolute garbage for 15+ yearsSo have the movies. The answer to your question is that they'll buy it anyway, no point putting effort into it.
>>154849206His comics have been bad since around the early 2010s? Isn't that around the same time Bendis killed off Parker/Spider-Man in the Ultimate universe?
>>154849206People don't read comics?
>>154849206Not enough NTR
>>154849633Constantly recycling characters and storylines gets old, anon. We've been reading capeshit for decades and the needle hasn't moved at all
That's the problem, he's so popular he's THE hero all the writers want to subvert and tear down. Everyone in line to write his comics aren't thinking about how they can best use the character, they just want to get famous doing something shocking to Peter. And it's because the character means so much to so many people.
>>154849633Spider-Man is a case study wherein you're genuinely better off not reading the comics
>>154849206>his comics have been absolute garbage for 15+ yearsAll comics have been hot garbage for 15+ years. People simply choose to ignore them and focus on the good stuff.
>>154849578Nta but his comic had been bad since the 90's, the actual disaster started with the second and more infamous 90's clone saga, the shit about mj being pregnant "loosing the baby" but turns out Osborn kidnapped her but never even tried to follow that story, then sins of the past on 2005/2006 made Osborn fuck Gwen to have children with her (they reconnected it later, but it was massively unpopular at the time) following up peter showing up his identity in civil was, so kingpin tried to kill aunt may, and peter needed to sell his marriage to Mephisto ending in the disaster that was brand new day, at that point spiderman as a book was unsalvagable. Then bendis, zeb wells and other writers beat up the character with even worse stories.I love spider-man but let's be real the 616 version is not worth saving. Joe quesada was probably the dude that got closer into killing Spiderman in general, hes the reason too about why a lot of characters that used to smoke don't do it anymore, like Jonah j. Jameson, the thing, kingpin and wolverine.People think spiderman was fine for the nostalgia factor because those stories were there when they were kids, but spider-man has consistently sucked since the 90's.
>>154849206That settles it. Marvel need to change MJ for a mulatto girl of weird proportions to make the comics popular again.
>>154849206easily fixed.
>>154850278Nah, we have entire runs, explaining why this relationship is never gonna work out.We even have a what if explaining that relationship is fated to fail or even end with actual dead.
>>154850278This makes me realize how even if felicia is an extremely popular Spider-man character, they never tried to adapt her into the movies. I know some movies concepts show her, but she's always cut or plainly denied.
>>154850278The fuck is doing spider Gwen there.
>>154850596>Nah, we have entire runs, explaining why this relationship is never gonna work out.We have entire runs rehashing a single story arc from decades ago because Marvel has no idea what to do with Felicia and had to shit on all the progress she was making as an antihero and working with the Avengers and Heroes for Hire. That singular What If being set in a time where they all ended badly and just some months ago Felicia actually did Marry Peter and says it herself that she had a good life.
>>154850651Felicia works better in multiple comic runs, pretty hard to adapt to a 2 hour script why out her in the spotlight, which she isn't so popular compared to other villains/allies of spidey. That's why she works better in the shows, and why Amazing was doing the same. Raimi's ideas were really dumb to fit in his movie, and went against everything that made the character special (making her vulture's daughter)
>>154850278>sucking Paul's ghost dick in the backkek
>>154850087Why are ESLs always misspelling losing as loosing?
>>154850836I mean you answered your question right now.
>>154849206Nobody reads comics
>>154850836Man, I wrote an entire post and thats the thing you're focusing? Lame. Sorry for the typo or even more mistakes, I tried my best to be honest.
>>154850596we got two series about Dagger been a toxic girlfriend to Cloak....Still they make they toghetter again in recent comics.
>>154850836to be fair, english is a really garbage language.
>>154849372And the games.
Yeah this character is enough to get me in the seat but the movie was really bad There's almost an OK plot in there but they just feel the need to explain absolutely everything, like they could have easily shaved 40 minutes off of this movie and cut a lot of the unnecessary talking out Spiderman figures out Jean can only jump 33 feet Flashback to Jean learning how to do it and her sister tells her remember the limit is 33 feet Spider man reminds Frank make sure you stay 33 feet Smug black guy tells her heh, I'm 40 feet away which is out of your rangeYeah, we got itThe entire movie is like that
>>154851428I forgot who the actor was that explicitly confirmed that movies are designed for women on their phones not paying attention (he didn't spell out women, but it was implicit). That aside, it's a very disjointed script at times. Like the climax where that dog of a woman pulls out the The CW love interest script going THIS IS MY CHOICE NOT YOUR CALL YOU DECIDED FOR ME HOW COULD YOU NOT HAVE TOLD ME WAH WAH only to turn around and say 'but I don't love you or know you at all sorry Penis Parker'.
>>154851518 Well aside from everything else there's no reason that gene could not have told spiderman what was going on She was playing a close to the chest for no reason, All she had to do was say they kidnapped my sister and he would have instantly been on her sideAnd also I haven't been keeping up with MsheU for a while so I don't know why the Hulk and banner antagonistic to each other again, last I saw they had come to an understanding and were integrated They sure felt the need to explain every other relationship with the constant flashbacks and references to other movies
Nobody reads comics
>>154849206Marvel is all about concepts, the premise of spierman sounds good and works for 1-2 hour movies, but when it comes to comics most marvel ones are mediocre at best.
The movie adaptations are done by better writers who rinse the comic book source material of their most retarded antics. No goddamn Mephisto making a parody of responsibility. The amnesia is played for horrific isolation drama and emotion, not laughed off with the clink of glasses smug party BND comic style. The characters emotions match the audience.Aunt May is dead because she served her purpose and her schtich was played out decades ago.All the things the comics could and should have done better.Real answer is the Spoffice is an Old Boys Club for Gen X'ers whose idea of an 'Evergreen' Spider-Man just so happens to be the one they grew up with and lasted a really brief part of a 60+ year history. And all the characters are rotting in it.
>>154849206I don't understand why this one is the one everyone wants to see. Is it Hulk fans wanting him to finally cut loose after Shulk? Is it the TV show watchers wanting to see the Punisher and Daredevil? This is so blatantly a filler movie that will have zero lasting relevance since Doomsday into Secret Wars is coming for our second reset.
>>154853974Consider the following:There are no Hulk fans. The TV shows were a complete failure, and Daredevil fans are so insignificant no one cares about Frank being out of character in this.Doomsday, and the MCU at large, don't matter to anyone. Everyone hated Pugh's fat face and shitty accent in this. It's about Spider-Man, it has always been about Peter Parker. Even at its peak the MCU could never measure up, audiences aren't pretending to care anymore, they're showing up IN SPITE of a shared universe, not because of it.
>>154849306it's crazy that the second dc cinematic universe will manage to fail to release a single Batman movie when anyone not stupid would make it the first or second movie
>>154849206Nick Lowe
