Gambit returns to Louisiana to take his role as King of Thieves, he divorces Rogue and dedicates his time to the guild and his family. He has better adventures there away from the insanity of the X-men (although some of them and even villains show up, obviously), becomes a character on his own, eventually retires, gets married, has a family, lives happily ever after.
