How did they manage to squander the hype so badly?
>>
Not related to the thread but I think Miles would make a great power bottom
>>
>>154852809
Because they didn’t start from a solid foundation of artistic principles but instead tried to ride hype and trends and it left them with an incoherent broken story.
>>
>>154852809
Unironically one of the most embarrassing plots in superhero movies. Pure schizophrenia about forcing Miles as a real Spider-Man and every Spider-Man in existence has to pay for it. Especially Miguel, people identify with Miguel but I'm not a fan of Miguel being used as this deranged strawman representing Miles haters. No sequel is out yet because they wrote themselves into a corner and there's no getting out of it.
>>
Because they were more obsessed with retarded virtue signaling, like making Gwen trans and showing a black pregnant Spider-Woman in her fifth trimester, than developing an actual story. “Spider-mans from across the multiverse all agree that some people just need to die” is so far removed from what the character is about that it’s not only not a story, it’s negative story. Which is also a really weird route to go when you set up The Spot as your villain and then abandon him for half the movie to pursue the non-story.
And apparently they had no idea how to wrap that shit up, since it’s taken them so long to to do the follow-up.
>>
>>154852809
they simply took too long and people realized the "canon events" make no sense, in the meantime marvel raped apider-man like 3 times in a row making the two obvious outcomes of the whole plot look awful
if miguel is right spider-man looks bad
if miles is right spider-man also looks bad
>>
>>154852815
Flowerfang or PeterMai?
>>
>>154852809
>first movie
>anons: nobody cares about miles! this is going to bomb!
>is a success
>second movie
>anons: they took too much time and it's even more about miles! this is going to do even worse!
>is a bigger success
>third movie
>anons: THIS TIME FOR SURE
This is as sad as Peterfags always begging for Spider-Gwen to fall for their guy while she's only interested in Miles and the majority of her art is paired with him.
>>
>>154853269
miles is still less popular than peter porker, peni parker, spider gwen, spider noire, less popular than Jacob Batalon's fat ass
>>
>>154852809
The main voice actor being a relentless sperg didn’t do the films any favors.
>>
>>154853265
I like him with Peter personally. I think they should kiss in the next movie
>>
>>154852815
Miles is a total slut for Gwen's BWC
>>
>>154853269
Meanwhile Peter is about to gross more money in his opening weekend than Miles did in his entire box office run. Back-to-back 2 Billy movies sucka Miles could never lmao
>>
>>154852809
This movie gave me a genuine headache from the visual over stimulation. I wish I could choke out all of the artists for making such a for "kids raised on ipads and youtube" movie.

It was funny as hell watching the troons sperg out when their pushing of Miles/Gwen and their support for Trans Gwen suddenly backfired on them like that.
>>
>>154852809
They took the original's relatively simple multiverse premise and expanded it to a ridiculous degree and made meta commentary THE central plot point instead of a background element with the canon event bullshit. Also didn't help that it and the announced sequel keep getting delayed. I still like Across the Spider-Verse for the most part but it is a needlessly flawed movie when the first was all cylinders firing.
>>
>>154853269
in reality
>movie with three peters makes lots of money
>movie with only one peter makes even more money

meanwhile
>miles gets his spotlight stolen by noir, peni and peter (B) in the first flick
>sequel is even more miles and they have to humilliate every single beloved peter parker and clones and have them act ooc to compensate, he still gets outshined by the main antagonist and punk
>his most "iconic" moment is also the most ironic one
kwab

>the hype
There are still people saying it's an all time GOAT Spider-Man movie.
>>
>>154853893
Trans Gwen was always stupid. You can have any flag you want in your room.
>>
>>154852809
Shameik Moore did unfathomable damage to Miles brand. God bless him.
>>
How big is Gwen's gock?
>>
>>154853945
Yes, an ever diminishing minority of brainrotted zoomers who hop from trend to trend.
>>
>>154852809
I first movie was based on existing comics that they mixed and matched to good effect and it's pretty hard to fuck up an origin story. The second is an original script and was a cliff hanger ending with little catharsis or character growth. All of those things are problems that a good writer would try to solve but either they didn't care or didn't have enough time to rewrite.

Starting to think ignorance is bliss.

I think hitting on your co-star was bad enough but using an old photoshoot to imply that you're hooking up with a woman who's already engaged was just god awful optics for your already shaky image. What was he thinking, that she'd just keep her lips shut and let rumors go wild that she's letting him hit?
>>
>>154855001
Shameik's been desperately trying to be a part of the "Every Spider-Man actor hooks up with their love interest" thing
>>
Remember Miles' uncle Aaron? The guy who Miles idolized and thought was the greatest guy ever? Remember how he turned out to be a criminal, a super villain, and most likely a murderer who was trying to kill a clearly underaged target throughout the first film? Remember how he only didn't kill Miles because he saw his face and then was immediately killed by his crime lord boss? Remember how the film ends with a beautiful memorial for him like he was some kind of martyr or saint? Do you think Miles ever thought about all the people his uncle probably hurt and killed?
>>
>>154855315
He's exonerated the same way people exonerated George Floyd. That is actually the more realistic part of Miles' characterization.
>>
>>154855315
What does Rest in Power even mean?
>>
>>154855001
wait gwen is black??
>>
>>154855675

The only thing left that Shameik needs to do is to admit that Miles doesn't want to be Spider-Man in the third movie like in this clip.
