I still find it funny people act like Snipes' Blade was high cinema or something. Not that I was looking forward to the dumb shit like MCU Blade being about his lesbian daughter or whatever, but those movies were widely considered shitty when I was growing up, and the vast majority of people I knew were widely unaware that Blade was even a comic character. Those flicks were only successful because it was the late 90s/early 2000s slop where you went to go fill an afternoon at the movies because you were bored as shit, or because you went to rent a movie from Blockbuster/Hollywood Video to watch with the gang before playing N64/Dreamcast. Or because it was on TNT and you were in a hospital waiting room. They were never good.
