I like President Curtis because Keith David is great and it's funny seeing a glimpse into what's expected to be the stoic get shit done President cliche defy type is funny, it becomes less funny when he's the main character so his type becomes just being a weirdo with a cool voice. The Hackneyed Spinoff jokes don't actually work when you fucking did it. The OG characters coming around to be pathetic shills for your new crappy show don't work when you're genuinely trying to do that.
