So somehow Green Goblin knocking up Gwen was the compromise editorial came up with. They should've just not do the twin storyline at all but I guess either JMS really wanted to do a Gwen's children screw with Peter story or deadlines were tight so it would be quicker to adjust the twins pitch than come up with something else for the next story arc.
