One thing that strikes me about the new seasons of KotH is the extended cast isn't anywhere near as good. The original show had a great extended cast. Cotton, Luanne, Dooley, Buckley, Lucky, Principle Moss. Those characters are now either not in the show, or have significantly reduced roles. All the new show is really bringing to the table is Emilio, who is fine but not really a funny character.A little something for them to work on maybe. Idk, idk....

Mike Judge has consistently managed to bring back Beavis and Butthead and do it well, and these first two revived seasons of KotH are at least fine, if not fantastic.They could probably do with a few better writers in there. And he has no ability to take care of himself since he was always groomed for greatness with football. and he bounces from part time low level job to part time low level job. Maybe he could inherit Dale's conspiracy theorist mindset and believe some evil group of globalists are preventing him from having a good life. So Connie would be the Boomhauer, Dooley the Dale and Joseph the Bill of the group.
I didn't watch the new season, I felt the last one was kind of mean-spirited

The actual show's writing feels okay, I'm enjoying that there's continuity now but it's too in line with late season KOTH for my taste. I rate it an "alright" out of ten. there's an irony in the fact that they fully killed off Cotton back in the later seasons of the original run, and Cotton's voice actor is both alive, available, and perfectly able to do the voice still.I think we need at least one episode that jumps back and forth between the two time periods. Maybe something Bobby and Joseph did as kids comes back to bite them. You could maybe even set it super early in the show and have Buckley appear in it.
Cell animation was half of the charm.

It's a shame how, even at their VERY best, these revival shows will always just be "okay, but not as good as the original". This is definitely one of the better examples, but I've yet to see a single one of these that actually lifts up the overall quality of the show

Luanne's hair growing out after the explosion, her becoming a bit more independent and moving out, the Hills wanting to have a baby and Peggy recovering from the fall, stuff like that.
