Because the foundational premise is already a slap-in-the-face to "source material" accuracy, and is quite sparse on the "meat" needed for any confidence.It's like the "wasted potential" of RWBY. Goddamn nobody on that staff, Monty included, had any serious worldbuilding or long-term plot-writing chops. But when it first came out, the abundant blank space let the audience project their own assumptions and build up a far more satisfying "big picture" than the final result ever could.
