I think having a character that's an unapologetic communist vigilante that believes personal property as a concept sets humanity back is an interesting premise, but I think it's impossible to pretend such a character is any heroic unless you write for a deranged audience that agrees with his politics. It says a lot that leftists will spam those same few Green Arrow Green Lantern issues to show how much of a "badass" Oliver is, but then they'll shit on characters like Rorschach and Punisher for killing child rapists and mass murderers.
