The reason why people push back against bad entries in franchise is because every time a new project goes mainstream, the odds of the producers ever wanting to do a new project in the old style gets slimmer and slimmer. Like we'll probably have no shot at getting a direct Scott Pilgrim adaptation for another 15 years if we're being hopeful. Why would they bother when consumers clearly hate the original story?This is why people hated the Devil May Cry reboot because we were afraid we were never getting actual Devil may Cry ever again. Good thing they only made one of those games and we got classic Dante back and they never tried changing everything about the franchise all over again. I'm glad they didn't give a sequel to said entry where they changed everything about the franchise. I sure have hope the next Devil May Cry game will be good when Capcom clearly gives so much of a shit about what the fans want.
