Anyone think this was an underrated era for cartoons?I mean yeah you had trash like Johnny Test, George of The Jungle, Skunk Fu and Total Drama Island, but there was also a lot of good shows;>Flapjack >Chowder>ATLA (S2&3)>Ben 10/Alien Force>The Clone Wars>Batman Brave and The Bold>El Tigre>Secret Saturdays >Spectacular SpiderMan>Wolverine and The X-Men >Penguins of Madagascar And moreIf nothing else it's better than the 70s to mid 80s
Well yeah, but it was around that time when animation became less fun to watch and more of a task really for millenials who werent working in the industry as it came to an end.Think of it as Shakespeare's 7 cycles of man, really:We may be able to endure (if not enjoy) them during the first 3, but by the time we're the soldier on the 4th (or 5th) we may as well be critics/iconoclasts due to the knowledge of a decade into cartoons that have existed for almost a Century.Granted this applies for ANY generation, really: once you get older your brain not only starts to deteriorate but cant handle dopamine as well as when you were in your teens.Of course we can still either put effort to see the silver lining or watch them with a younger generation (related or not) in order to try and connect better. But the fact remains that all generations are born into one that was easier to access in the past than in the future.
>>154886170Granted there are also fans of either stuff like anime or Rick and Morty whom are not only the right demographic but crave challenge enough to do their best in adapting to a present show. My point is that you still weren't going to be able to enjoy Fanboy and Chum chum the same way you enjoyed Jimmy Neutron (despite residing in that august decade) unless you had an earnest enough cause to sit through the same quantity of episodes.sure, I might be sperging out, but lets just say you get what you give...
>>154886069I think this idea of separating things in decades as if it was a competition is a mistake.I think what we are seeing is some of the players that started their sphere of influence with 2 stupid dogs and bakshi alumni started to get away from tv animation as the tween era started and live action crept it's ugly face on children entertainment once more.I could be wrong though, I just don't feel like we are seeing the bigger picture if we just arbitrarily make a cut out every 10 years to compare the decades as if they were a team sport.
