Laura struck off on her own and wound up running into a girl named Alice who, unfortunately, was killed by her boyfriend/pimp. But another Alice popped up and Laura and Gambit, who had decided to tag along with Laura, went with her to see Miss Sinister. She was in control of one of Mister Sinister's old labs and the children/clones he had made. She then transformed into Mister Sinister briefly. Sinister was slowly taking over his counterpart's body so Miss Sinister attempted to transfer her consciousness into Laura only to mistakenly transfer Mister Sinister's instead, however Laura quickly overcame him and ejected it.The lab was destroyed and she Gambit escape with Alice, taking her to a hospital, while Mister Sinister's conciousness survived in the last Alice clone. Laura and Gambit then decided to head to Madripoor, getting into a conflict with pirates around Singapore in the process, in order to find former Weapon X director Malcolm Colcord.Today is X-23 #8-9 and Daken #8-9.Previous >>154980236
Daken #8
You know, Stegman and Checchetto seem like a rather high tier art duo for a crossover between two C-list books.
Also Frank D'Armata's shitty coloring strikes again. It's amazing how much it warps the art so that everything just looks like him. A real good example of how much a colorist can affect work.
I'm going to take a break for a little bit before continuing.

>>154994255I honestly dislike all the Wolverines. I'll accept the other savage characters like Feral and Wild Child but the Wolverines

Daken #9
That's all for today and this little crossover interlude. Next time is X-23 #10-12.The Jubilee arc everyone loves.

I will say, I hate that Daken has been cinnamon rolled because he's non-white and bisexual. Him being a self-absorbed manipulative asshole who does everything for his own amusement and hedonistic pleasure is at least a reasonably interesting character rather than him just being a good boy. At that point he's not even the same character.

Hey teacher, is Vengeance that part of the storytime? I haven't read it or know the relative timing.
>>154996921Nope, I completely forgot it even existed until your post.
Getting around to these, so only at the Spider-Island day so far. Actually what the fuck with the Wasps? I now feel bad for imagining if the Sisterhood of the Wasp had boss-level waspy people like a couple plagiarized from science fiction/horror works and a clone of Janet van Dyne back when it was being storytimed instead of mostly being symbolic.
>>154993230Good art but very drastic look between issues.
>>154994207>that thong revealNot sure if that's supposed to be red or brown. I'd have assumed it'd be black since that's her favorite color.
>>154998232I would guess that neither Tobin or the book's editor really knew what the Wasps were and just made something up.
>>154994746much obliged, op
