Take 2 (not mine originally). What do you think of indie/small press publishers and comics?
What indie books, past or present, are you reading?

Why make the exact same thread again if the previous one died before reaching 30 replies? I'll answer for you, it's mental illness. I would give you the free advice that maybe next time try to engage people with posts, questions and suggestions but you're just going to be mad at me because I insulted you like the small minded person that you are and... well, let's face it, the board is dead anyway so you're not going to get any engagement on this subject unless you reply to yourself but you want to read posts more than have discussions.

Holy projection, Batman.

Thanks for proving my point. Have the free bump, peasant.

Thanks, schizo.

im happy to post discussion, its hard to have meaningful /co/ discussions because the people who are capable of maintaining the conversations have LIVES with jobs and families and responsibilities, and the board is overrun with unemployed mentally ill 19 year olds that need seven separate simultaneous threads about Amazing Digital Circus

anyway....

here's what i'm reading rn:

Dark Horse: keeping up with all the Hellboy minis, first issue of new Grendel & Shaolin Cowboy were sick as fuck. Kingdom of Earth issue 1 was intriguing, as is Hidden Springs. Loving the new Concrete. Giving Gail Simone's boxing comic The Ring a chance cuz I like pulp. Always pick up Groo whenever Sergio finishes an issue
I dug Usai Yojimo Kaito 84. The Seeley written Masters of he Universe ongoing is a guilty pleasure.

Mad Cave: Abnett's new run on Flash Gordon is off to a great start, classic space adventure. The Dick Tracy run is fun, R rated stuff. I was a characterfag for the recent Speed Racer & Racer X maxis, they're fun for what they are. Mark Russell's war comic Dog Tag is really good, I like Russell a lot, he's been missing a lot lately but this a return to form.

Titan: fuck yeah, I pick up Conan, its always the best. new Solomon Kane mini and the team up with Dragonero are dope too.

Oni: I'm starting Faceless and the Family, the premise and art style are very oddball, can be a little hard to wrap your head around but I'm sticking with it. And Spirit of the Shadows was as dope as it looked. I also need to pick up Super Mega Mutts. That artist previously did Cowboys of Moo Mesa: a dumb toy comic with surprisingly fun art.

continued: tried a couple one shots from Bad Idea: Tony Millionaire's Oddball Odyssey - loved it, was beautiful. Banana Number One and Dingoliath, really liked both of the them but the page count for the price point was frustrating. Felt like overpriced ashcan previews for books coming later, I want more.
^^ forgot to previously mention that I'm also picking up The Hab by Josh Dysart with art by Dave Lapham and Bill Sink on art. It is a really damn good horror book, Dysart is mad underrated

Antarctic: I'll still grab a NHS whenever Dunn publishes it. They're also doing a goofy fun book called Cryptid Corps thats basically cryptid X Force, it embraces the edge kino of it. They also re printed the British sci fi book Shaman Kane which was really cool

Dynamite: Space Ghost and Red Sonja. fuck yeah.

Image: Malevolent - like it but wish it had more room to flesh out premise.
Tigress Island - not bad, solid B.
Super Creepshow: meh, waste.
Corpse Knight: I'm digging it, hope it sticks the landing.
Viking Moon: whenever it comes out, i love the premise in spite of the wicked delays.
Eye Collector: wtf is up with this art.
M1 Monster Racing: i will always pick up anything jae lee.
Something Epic: love how weird this is.
just finished Death Fight Forever which was a really fun cool looking artist jam
Lady Mechanika, If Destruction Be Our Lot, and D'Orc - all really good so far. best of the bunch.
GI Joe Real American Hero - was my first comic love, will never part from it
Badrock & Youngblood: Rob <3
Spawn, King Spawn, Scorched, Gunslinger Spawn, and She Spawn: In Todd we trust.
(I missed out on the grand floor of Deadly Tales of Gunslinger, or else I'd add that too.) Spawn: the Dark Ages had amazing Liam Sharp art.

I meant to thank you for bringing up Concrete. I had no idea there was a new batch of comics.

Yeah! DH has quietly been putting out new volumes from all their classic creators. Even if its "just" a mini, I couldn't pass up.

ya know, i guess technically technically, Dark Horse and Boom! are not indies anymore, since they're owned by corporations.

and IDW technically *is* an "indie" even thought it's mostly licensed books. fwiw, I'm reading Yang on TMNT, the TMNT Journeys reprints, the Twilight Zone - great anthology, and the new Rocketeer minis. I loved the cast of The Island

forgot to mention: i also pick up any Toxic Avenger from Ahoy, love Matt Bors

>new volumes from all their classic creators
I gotta check that out. I heard about the Hellboy minis, but I pretty much hard stopped with Hellboy In Hell, which I found to be satisfying enough.

Any good crime thrillers by an indie publisher?
Retard take but I wish comics can expand outside of capeshit in terms of an outsiders perspective. Especially more black and white comics.
>>
>>155011614
Have you read Stray Bullets?

Nah

It's hilarious saying this on a board where every other thread is spam or a shitpost.

Big Man Plans might fit.
Vietnam Vetern dwarf Big Man gets a letter from his sister that she saw her small town cop husband murder an inmate, and is in fear for her own life.
He then proceeds to tear through the town seeking his sister and revenge for years of torment.
Written by the guy who made The Goon, I forget his name.
