We get to observe those situations from a safe and objective distance, and once the show is done, we also get to observe them from hindsight. At the point where Jax walked off to isolate in the Finale, so did Gangle, Zooble and Ragatha. Should Pomni have put them on suicide watch too? Everyone reacts differently to tragedy. Kinger tried to patch holes in the Circus, but you could easily decide he was stupid for doing that and declaring it was a pointless activity. Eventually Ragatha, Gangle and Zooble came back, after taking some time to process things. Why shouldn't Pomni think that maybe Jax just needs a little time to come around? Maybe this will be the thing that gets his armor to crack and start talking about his shit instead of bottling it up and taking it out on others. Especially since pressing too hard on a person who's upset or depressed can just make things worse instead of better. Pomni says she should have pried more, but what if that just made Jax abstract faster? If you didn't like the finale, that's fine. But that doesn't mean it's badly written.
