>The Serpent has trapped Sigurd Jarlson in the worst of all possible worlds for his greatest trial. Now, without even a weapon in his hand, he must prove himself worthy to enter the Realms of the Gods.>Somewhere in the city, a man without even a hammer begins the ultimate quest...the quest for Thor!
Bump if you're reading.
>>155095644>>155095635I'm surprised they actually said it. Loki becoming bitter, curmudgeony, and controlling as Odin has been happening for so long and consistently that I thought the writers were doing it by accident.
And that's it. If you liked this, support your LCS or whatever.
>>155095655>>155095604I feel Ewing may have shot himself in the foot with this one since we just did this gag with Modi last issue.
>>155095674In Jormungandr's defense, if you were in his position, and even knowing your dad Loki is a liar and illusionist, could you afford NOT to believe this glamor?
>>155095745>a neat and tidy trick from you at last, LokiChrist, Odin. I don't like your kid either, but a thumbs up would have sufficed.
>>155095572No opening qoute for this issue?
>>155095572bump
>>155095861I have to assume it is this way for thematic reasons. But it also feels like the story is spread a bit thin.
>>155095789Ah, Gillen. His run on Journey Into Mystery is really why I'm in comics now, but he hasn't done much since I've cared for.Should probably reread that run to KNOW, you know? Even if it might be better to let it remain a vague, pleasant memory.
>>155095572ayo wassup my aesir
>>155095792kinda random to have this mini interview about this five-page comic
>>155095815It's that Bounty hunter guy from the 70s that DnA used in Nova
>>155095842So this is teasing another What if then?
>>155097097The Power Fantasy sucks.
I've been really liking this run, but it does feel a little weird that they did the stuck in time story twice in a row, my guess is the parallel is going to lead into a future story beat, IDK, this felt a little start and stop. Looking forward to the next arc.

>>155095599>In my days, we had to walk ten miles uphills to ger our cosmic significance, boy!
>>155095752I don't know how accurate it is, but google translate says:Sigurd:>Then Ole Jo [?] can crawl back under the bridge he came from...Oden:>Are you trying to insult me? I have exchanged insults with legends--in real legends! You should try a little harder, you wretched mortal!
>>155095752Ha ha, journey into mystery~
>>155096705gotta max out that milestone issue page count!
>>155097934Close, but for Sigurd it would be:>Then Ole can just crawl back under the bridge he came from...'Jo' is basically a way of modifying the sentence to sound more dismissive, so 'just' can work in its position.Ole is a little bit of an odd choice, it isn't an uncommon name (it is a variation on Olaf), but 'Ole and Lena'/'Ole and Sven' are more Scandinavian American joke forms.I might be mistaken and Odin may have given this as his name at one point, but it would generally work better if it was 'Ola' instead. Ola Nordmann is the generic Norwegian man (kinda like John Doe in English).
>>155097577Is this reused artwork?
>>155095635So what exactly do people like the Wrecking Crew or other previously involved with Norse stuff people think they are now?
>>155099097first day?
>>155099271Memories have been rewritten to put BRB into Thor's place so probably Korbinite tech?
>>155095896tbf this Loki isn't his dad, he's a memory of his dad who took over his reincarnated self then went through another death, or something
>>155095846So they're retiring Mortal after the next issue?
>>155095752I really like how Ewing writes Odin now - kind of an asshole, but smart and well intentioned. A pleasant change from the functionally senile, self-absorbed old man he was back in the Aaron days.
>>155100953tbf even during Aaron days whatever little we saw of Ewing's Odin was great
>>155100847Yeahhh I think marvel needs to just bring back Loki, the real loki
>>155095572very happy to have ferry back
>>155095705starting to prefer sigurd to thor ngl
>>155101357Genuinely what would old school pre-Siege/JiM Loki add to the story at this point? What you do with the character that wasn’t already done by better writers?
>>155095935he told him that hes his favourite like 10 pages ago
>>155097097There's also a direct line of continuity from Gillen's JiM to this comic.Loki: Agent of Asgard is Ewing's sequel to JiM. Defenders: Beyond then adds another chapter to that story, which leads directly into this run of Immortal / Mortal Thor. All of Loki's motivations in this story stem from Defenders: Beyond #5.
>>155100847It is his dad. It's not Seventh cosmos Loki piloting the body of Eigth cosmos Loki, it's a merged version of both of them, that experienced both of their histories.
>>155101281Ehh, I dunno, he was still kind of beholden to the "oafish bastard" thing during Agent of Asgard. That said, the gatling gun did fucking rip.
>>155095628He said it!
>>155095705Did Jormangander make a bunch of crosses out of office desks? Why did he really just want to crucify Sigurd?
So Sigurd is Donald Blake not Thor? Wasn't he evil for most of last 15 years/since separation? How long until real Thor comes back?
>>15510428110 or 11 issues i would guess since Sigards to spend an issue in at least each realm
This art sucks so hard.
>>155104281Sigurd is Donald Blake's soul reincarnated into a human body by thor (hence taking thor's shape). Donald Blake's memories and body were worn by the midgard serpent. SO you could argue current midgard serpent is the evil blake
>>155102332The thing I was referencing was original Loki's memory copy taking over reincarnated kid loki, then dying by his future self. They are all always the same people. Be it eighth or seventh cosmos. But Loki gets a free pass claiming he's different
>>155095572kay
>>155104281Evil Donald Blake was revealed to have been a trick. The Serpent had eaten Donald Blake in his relaxing dream realm, then as Donald Blake ate the Serpent's shed skin to make everyone think he killed the Midgard Serpent
>>155095572Bump
>>155108467Ewing never did anything with Blake having the symbiote from that Venom crossover he wrote
>>155099271I wonder also what the X-Men other than Moonstar remember about the Asgardian wars. Nothing? Or does it become the Olympian War and they all believe Dani got a Pegasus and spend some times with the Amazons?
>>155109663He turned it into Hellnir, which Thor uses the reincarnate Blake's soul. Leftovers of him became the serpent
>>155109725I think it's one of those just don't think about since the story isn't focused on it
bump
Immortal bump
How is Ewing's Thor? I've seen people say he sucks now because of his venom but this thread is more positive than most
>>155114796It's honestly good, but it feels weaker than his Immortal Hulk series.
